Chapter 19 - Cultivation and Forging 3

The next day Jian felt refreshed as he he woke up fromhis slumber, and before he even really opened his eyes he checked his strand of Fire Qi circulating in his first meridian. As he felt the silk like strand of Qi in hi first meridian , he noticed it had gotten relatively smaller and slower compared to the day before. If he decided to not cultivate today, then he would most likely completely lose all his Qi and would have to start from the beginning.

Jian frowned at the abysmal amount of Qi he held 'So this is the rule of ascension huh? The more you circulate the Qi in your meridians, the faster it accumulates. The absorption speed of someone at the third meridian should be five times faster than that of someone in the first meridian and , and the amount of Qi should be six times more than that of the first meridian. It's such a strange concept, but is this the true hierarchical power scale of this world. There are exceptions Going by the Scorching Fire manual some people just absorb the Qi in the air more quickly, and some even have more dense qi than others managing to outclass those of higher cultivation, but those are very rare....only one in a million.' Jian pondered about that for a while, but he quickly opted to regain his lost Fire Qi. The phone again materialized in his hand and the reverse charging was activated, and thw Qi rushed to his meridian. This lasted for about an hour before the battery percentage dropped to 15 and he made the phone dissappear again. He then continued to cultivate on his own, but it was much much harder. If using the reverse charging was like drinking from a thin straw, then cultivating on his own was like sucking the moisture from the air. It was at least ten times harder making Jian feel sorry for the others starting on their cultivation journey....well almost. It was great for Jian, but another problem arose.

' It seems that with my smartphone the others would have a much slower Qi absorption than me. I should be much faster than them at the stage I am right and it could rise some suspicion....or would it just be overlooked? By their standards I'm a reincarnated soul who has some tricks up his sleeves, but they don't know what. Maybe it wouldn't even be considered as something great by them?' thought Jian as he remembered the rules of cultivation. It was true that he would be faster at absorption of Qi as he had the reverse charging from his phone, but it was limited by one hour at the moment. The advantage would become smaller and smaller as he advanced in cultivation, but that was a problem for future Jian.

"Huup, there is no time to think, it's time for action " Jian jumped to his feet, refreshed a little bit and then headed to the forge building. During the way he was refreshed by the atmosphere and the view of the temple and the mountain air. The zen gardens calmed his mind as he passed by them; that is until he arrived at the forge. It was a big one storied building constructed by deep red colored bricks, crystal glass windows covered in soot and big chimneys that produced smoke and steam nin stop. This was the local branch of the blacksmithing guild, one of the many guilds that existed in this world. The Blacksmith Guild was one of the most prominent and one of thmost powerful ones as it brought together blacksmiths of all ages and cultivation levels. It regulated the market price of most wares that wares that were on the market. The Medicine Guild , the Divination Guild, The Alchemist, and the Elemental Foormation guild were also on the top five alongside the Blascksmithing Guild, but they didn't have that much of an influence compared to the blacksmithing guild here. It wasn't anything surprising though as this region had little land for precious medical plants and an abundance of rare and precious metals.

"Hisss..." as soon as Jian entered the building he was met with a wave of heat that took his breath away, but it wasn't as obvious as yesterday. In fact even his sluggish Fire Qi begun to be more active.'So this is why they say that those born with a Fire Qi root were destined had an aptitude towards forging.'

Jian took a deep breath and headed towards his destination. He quick passed numerous men and some women who were making numerous things, and stopped at the same place he was yesterday . As he arrived he immediately noticed the figure of his teacher Gao, and so he bowed in respect." Jian greats master!"

"Mhmm....I was expecting you." spoke Gao as he squinted his eyes as he saw Jian intently, but only for a second. For most people it would be only a unconcious gesture as sometimes waves of heat made people squinted , but someone of Gao's caliber was not affected at all. "Jian, I'm glad you could come in time. Fortunately for you my two other disciples are here." Gao motioned with his hand and the two people next to him came forward.

Jian had not really paid any attention to them before as hebwas focused on Gao, but now he could clearly see them. One of them was a man about 30 years old with wild long hair and sparse beard, and the other was a young woman of about 20 years old and she seemed like a doll. Jian was fixated for a moment at her figure as she seemed to perfect to be true, but he quickly recovered by a cough.

"I'm sorry to keep you waiting! Senior sister, senior brother, my name I'd Feng Jian and I'm the new apprentice of master Gao."

"
