Chapter 61 - [ I DON'T WANT TO SEE ANYONE

It's been a week since Enoch left the house to attend to the matters at his work, and Abigail decided not to step out of the house for even once, out of respect for Enoch.

This was getting boring for Abigail, but there was nothing she could do than to wait for Enoch's return. She's been in the house for a week and not even a single person came to visit or even ask of Enoch.

Even though Enoch had promised to get in touch with her, it was just the first two days that he spoke to her on phone, and non of her calls to him has been answered yet, not even the numerous text she left him, asking when he'll be back home.

Abigail lay in the couch in the living room, waiting to see if there's going to be a miracle that would bring Enoch back home. She picked her phone to text Enoch for the tenth times in the day but suddenly remembered something.

She remembered Enoch's conversation with Gideon before he left the house, but didn't know what to make of it. She had pretended to be sleeping and since Enoch had putting his phone on loud speaker, she heard everything.

.... Flash back...

Arrange a doctor appointment for me, I need to know something." Enoch said to Gideon on the phone.

" Okay sir, but what happened, is Miss Abigail not feeling well?" Gideon's voice came worriedly from the phone.

" Is she the only one you can think about? Can't I get sick too?" Enoch asked angrily, and Gideon had to be silent to save himself.

" It finally happened, but I think there's something wrong with her." Enoch said.

" What happened sir? I don't get you." Gideon asked again.

" Remember I told you I feel like biting her whenever she's close? I did just that." Enoch said calmly, but he sounded as if he regretted doing something wrong.

" What? But why sir? You both are humans so why must you feel that way towards her?" Gideon asked since he never thought Enoch would do anything as such.

" Stop shouting at me okay, I just said it been done already. Am worried about her because I think she's sick or something. Her blood taste different from mine, as if am tasting two different kinds of blood." Enoch answered.

" Really? Don't worry am going to contact your doctor now. So when do I resume work." Gideon asked impatiently.

" Today. Meet me at the office, I have some work to do there. And don't forget to get her what I asked you. Enoch said and ended the call without waiting for Gideon's response.

He walked to Abigail after dressing up and kisses her on the forehead before whispering into her ear. "I'll be back before you know it, just wait for me here." He felt Abigail blinking her eyes as she frowned her face.

He thought she was about to wake up and he didn't want her to see him leaving. He might not be able to go at all, so for him not to wake Abigail, he stood up and went out of his room as silence as he could make it out, not knowing Abigail had been awake for a while.

.... End of flash back....

Abigail wondered why he was worried that she might be sick. Nothing was wrong with her and she didn't feel pain anywhere. And what was it that Enoch had asked Gideon to get for her? She hasn't received it yet. Are the two of them going to come back at all? She wondered as she tossed in the couch.

She lifted her head to the calendar at the right Conner of the living room and realized it was Sunday and the next day, which was going to be Monday, was the day her case with Amanda had to start.

Amanda had been sentenced to jail for fifteen years for the murder of Hanson the previous week, and now Abigail had the chance to face her in court. But how can she do it alone? All the evidence she needed was sent to the lawyer Enoch got for her, but was she going to meet that friend of hers alone?

She kept laying in the couch and didn't even touched her afternoon meal. She thought of her life and how things are going to be if she had to face Amanda in court alone. She almost dozed off when suddenly a knock came from the door.

She chose to ignore it and sleep but instead of knocking again, the person at the door choose to ring the doorbell. It annoyed her because the sound was too disturbing for her and she had no choice then to attend to who was at the gate.

"Sorry to have disturbed you ma'am. Sir asked for this to be delivered to you." A man dress in an all black outfit stood at the door with his head bowed, holding in his outstretched arms a gift box.

"Send that back to your boss and tell him to deliver it himself, and if he's not here by tomorrow morning, am leaving and will never return to this house again." She said and close the door in the face of the man, not allowing him to say anything more, knowing that was her only chance to get Enoch home.

Less than a minute after she bang the door, the doorbell started ringing again and it annoyed her the more. "I said go away, I don't want to see anyone if it's not your boss." She shouted from the room.

She thought that would stop the man from pestering her, but the bell kept ringing again and again till she couldn't take the noise anymore. She stood from the sofa and walked angrily to the door and open it.

A manly feet covered in a brown expensive leather executive shoe, attached to long, study and strong legs covered in a black tra-length pants with a hand which had a golden bracelet on, in it right porket. At the waist was a brown leather belt, holding the pants and an ash long sleeves shirt together.

From the appearance and the features of the body in the dress, Abigail could tell she knows who it belongs to, but what if she was just mistaking? Should she look up to the persons face? What if it not him and her hopes get shattered? She took steps backwards as she mumbled. "I don't want to see anyone if not him." She then turned to leave.

"Won't you at least see who it is first?" A cold and commanding voice stopped her.

Slowly, ever slowly, Abigail turned to face her fears, and to her surprise, Enoch stood before her with one hand in his pocket and the other holding his black suit thrown behind him above his shoulder. He looks dashing and charming, and the sunglasses he had on added to his handsome appearance.

In just a jump, Abigail hunged herself on Enoch's chest, encircled her hands around his neck and her legs around his waist, with her head on his shoulders, taking Enoch by surprise.

"Hay! I was gone for just one week okay." Feeling shock by her actions, Enoch said. He had expected Abigail to be happy upon seeing him, but not to the extent that he had to throw his suit so he could chach her midway so she wouldn't fall.

"And you call one week just?" Abigail asked as she was being taking to the room by Enoch.

"I had a lot on my plate. I had to make sure I get all the shears of the company, and I did just that." Enoch said with his usual expressionless face as he made Abigail sit on the couch.

" You did? But how?" She asked with lots of excitement in her eyes.

" Nothing much. I just had to rebuy them." He responded as images of how he got the shears back flashed in his memories, making him turned cold instantly.

" But how were you able to do it so fast?" She prompt him again, but Enoch wouldn't tell her anything he knew he shouldn't.

" How have you been?" He asked, trying to change the subject, but Abigail just lifted and dropped her hands to signify she's been okay.

" I have both good and bad news for you, which one do you want to hear first? Enoch asked as Gideon entered and drop his suit and the gift box on a table beside the couch.

They both turn to look at him as he went out of the room without a word, after nodding his head to great Abigail. "If it's about the case starting tomorrow then I want the bad news first." Abigail said, bringing Enoch out of his thoughts.

"I did all I could, but still couldn't get my hands on Easter. That witch knows how to hide well. I think I underestimated her." He said and relaxed in the couch.

"And the gud new is that the lawyer of that girl doesn't want to defend her anymore, so he'll be giving a lawyer by the government, and you know what that means right? I also asked for the case to be settled in just a day or two. That way we can all rest after." Enoch said.

Abigail's face brightened up a bit after hearing what Enoch had to say. She kissed him on the lips and did everything possible for Enoch to touch her, but to no avail. She missed him so much that she didn't know if she could pass a night by his side without him making love to her, but all she did was nothing for Enoch.

Enoch had prepared himself for this, knowing Abigail would want him to touch her. But how can he, when he felt so disgusting of himself. He couldn't even think of touching Abigail after what he did to get his campany back.

He stood from the couch and decided on them having their meal instead, and after, he made sure there was no way Abigail was going to disturb him with sex as he made himself busy with work through the night till Abigail slept off, before going to bed himself.
