Morning came and Abigail was still sleeping, with no interest or desire to wake up. The dream she was having was so exciting that she didn't want to wake anytime soon, and the silly smile that kept playing on her lips was an evidence of her excitement.
In her dreams, she and Enoch without much stress, had worn the case and to celebrate it, Enoch took her out to their favorite place at the sea side. They stood at the cliff and watch as the waves of the sea carried the fisherman to their destiny in their boat.
The sea water hit the walls of the cliff and splash on them, making both of them giggle for a while. Suddenly the flavor of eag sandwich filled Abigail's nose, making her stomach rumble in hunger as she took steps close to the rooftop restaurant close to the cliff.
Abigail felt her body falling and to her surprise, she had almost fallen off the bed when she finally opened her eyes. She got herself a robe to wear and rush down to the living room knowing it might be Enoch cooking for her since he wasn't in bed.
As expected, Enoch had already served the breakfast he just prepared. He smiled lightly when he saw Abigail rushing down the stairs. But the smile disappeared shortly after.
He pulled a seat for her to sit and sat opposite to her instead of sitting beside her as he usually do. "How are you doing?" He asked as he served himself some scrambled eggs and bread to take his tea.
"Am ok, just that I thought the case was over." Abigail replied as she served herself as well.
" The case starts this afternoon, so how can it end? Had a dream?" Enoch asked and Abigail nodded to say yes, trying to hide her embarrassment.
"You'll have to know how you'll handle whatever it is that happens at the court, both in and out of it, okay?" Enoch asked as he mouth his food.
"Okay but, is there anything I should expect to happen?" She asked.
"Non that I know of, but anything can happen." Enoch replied, knowing what he had putting himself into.
The breakfast was a short one, and the two of them freshen up and got ready to set off to the capital city where everything started. As usual, Enoch finished dressing up before Abigail, making him take the lead out of the house to wait for her at the compound.
"Here, choose one." Enoch said pointing to a small plastic plate with about ten or more different kinds of car keys on it, in the palm of Gideon.
Gideon was surprised and turn to the direction Enoch was looking, only to find Abigail standing next to them in a blue knee length dress which fitted her body perfectly, making her caves show even more.
The upper part of the dress was an off shoulder with a bit of gathered straps around the shoulder. She matched it with a pair of red shoes and a small handbag. She looked elegant and sexy at the same time, and Enoch knew he would've bounce on her if not for what he did to himself.
He swallowed hard to get all his thoughts in check and turn to Gideon who's gaze was still stack on Abigail with his lips slightly open and a 'Wow' expression, writen on his face. He gave Gideon a knock on the head to get him out of his daze, and when he turned back to Abigail, she had a questioning look on.
"You get to choose the car we are going with. You can choose anyone you want." Enoch said, breaking the awkward silence that was covering them.
Gideon smile and stretch the plates for Abigail to choose a key from. Knowing Abigail was not good in car brands, he thought of helping her make a choice, but the sudden knock that landed on his head again told him Enoch was still there and watching.
"Awge! But I didn't do anything?" He asked looking at Enoch accusingly.
"It wasn't for something you did, but what you were about to do." Enoch said and turn to Abigail who without thinking much, picked one of the keys and handed it to Enoch. Both Enoch and Gideon got shocked and turn to look at each other, thinking if she knew which car she chose.
"What? I thought the cutest the car, the beautiful it key may be." Abigail asked, giving them a questioning look.
"Come. I'll show you the car you picked. If I don't get robbed today, I won't ever again." Enoch said as he lead Abigail to the car she picked, while Gideon went back to the room to leave the remaining keys on a table and followed them.
Meters away from all the other cars, Enoch stopped and pointed to a car that was covered in a prison service camo clothe. Gideon harried and took the clothe off the car reviling a brand new lundcruser Parado.
"What the....? Abigail muttered as she couldn't believe her eyes. Such cars was the type the presidential candidate mostly use, and if she was not mistaking, only a few people in government had enough money to buy such cars. " Who is this for?" She asked.
" You are standing before it's owner ma'am." Gideon answered, even though the question wasn't meant for him. He didn't want Enoch to lie to her again.
" Don't you think you are over pampering me? I've never experienced the kindness you've been showing me, not even from my own family. I wish my father or fiance was the one doing all this, but it is you.... Why are you doing all this?" Abigail was getting all emotional and that was not what Enoch needed at the moment.
She looked even more beautiful and it was taking every bit of strength in Enoch to stop himself from bending her over the car to give it to her hard. He took steps close to her and pushed behind her ear her hunny gold hair that was covering almost half of her face, reveling the beauty hidden behind it. She blushed at the contact of his fingers on her soft skin making her glow even more.
"Can't I do the things your father or fiance is to do for you?" Enoch asked. Their face was so close that Abigail could feel his breath funning her face.
" You can, but you are not my father nor fiance. You are... " Abigail didn't even know how to address Enoch in her life. For her alone, she would wish him to be more than just a friend, but how can she say so.
"Am what? What am I to you?" Enoch asked, holding her waist with their faces so close.
"I don't know. I know you are more than a friend but...." Abigail couldn't fish her sentence when Enoch took steps backwards, letting go of her as he turned to leave.
For a while, he thought Abigail was going to say he was her boyfriend at least, but he got disappointed when he noticed she didn't know what he was to him. It pain him a lot and all he could think of was why Abigail couldn't see him as her boyfriend. Maybe he wasn't good for her.
"Mr Damtis are you..." He heard Abigail's voice as he turned to leave, and his heart felt the pain of disappointment even more.
"She can't even address me with my first name, but she still addresses her fiance with his first name. Why? Doesn't she like me at all?" Enoch thought as he slowly turned to face her. "Let's get going, or we'll be late." He said and continue walking to the other side of the car.
Gideon open the door for Abigail to enter the car and closed it only when she was seated, before going to the driving seat to make himself comfortable behind the wheels. Enoch also entered the car and instructed Gideon to drive, and another car full of his bodyguards followed them discreetly.
__________At the court
"Ma'am, should I help you out? " Gideon asked upon seeing Abigail was not ready to leave the car, even though it's doors had been open for a while and Enoch was out already. He stretched out his hand, giving his right palm to Abigail as support.
"Ma'am, please take my hand." Gideon siad as he wait for her to get out, but Abigail seems to be out of the world. Nobody knew what she was thinking about, but from the look on her face, she looked scared.
"Ma'am, are you okay? Gideon asked politely.
"Stop calling me ma'am. My name is Abigail and if you can't call me as you use to, then don't call me at all." Abigail said angrily as she made her way out of the car, which got Enoch's attention.
She looked so angry that, if looks could kill, Gideon would have been dead just by Abigail's gaze on him. He took steps backwards giving way for Enoch to approach Abigail as both men couldn't tell why Abigail was so angry.
"Queen, why are you so angry? Is something wrong?" Enoch asked impatiently. He had been waiting at the other side of the car for Abigail to step out so they could enter the courtroom together, but now he didn't know what she was up to.
"We should go back home, this case is of no importance to me anymore. We won't win anyway. I'll just forget that all this happened so I can move on. Please let go back home." Abigail lamented as she held Enoch's hand, trying all she could to convince him.
Enoch was at a lost as to why Abigail was like that all of a sudden. Just the previous night, she was looking forward to seeing the face of Amanda after winning the case, and even in the morning, she did all she had to do fast, just so she wouldn't be late for the hearing. But what happened all of a sudden.
"But why Queen?" Enoch asked, looking worried.
