Chapter 60 - BONUS CHAPTER.[KNOWING WHAT HE WANTS]

The rest of the bath was a silent one as Enoch didn't want to bother Abigail anymore, but instead chose to think about what he felt when he tasted Abigail's blood after biting her.

They both took their bath on their own as Abigail was in a hurry to get out of the room. She was feeling famished after everything that transpired in the room and getting something to eat was all that was on her mind.

"Do you feel okay? Or maybe feel pain in any part of your body?" Enoch asked immediately they both got out of his room after changing into new clothes.

"I feel fine, why do you ask?" Abigail responded, in a hurry to get down the stairs.

"Nothing. I just want to know. It's just that your blood taste so different from mine, yet I could feel my own blood in yours. It's like I was tasting two different kinds of blood at the same time." Enoch commented as they got down the stairs, still thinking about how Abigail's blood tasted on his tongue.

" That's funny you know. Or maybe your blood mixed with mine because we've been fucking everyday for weeks." Abigail joked as she made herself comfortable at the table.

"Oh really now? Then I guess I have strong blood." Since Abigail wasn't taking him serious, Enoch joked along.

"That reminds me, you looked angry and disturbed earlier. What happened?" Abigail prompted him.

" I'll be leaving the house for few days." Enoch said blankly as he begin to mouth his food.

"Well, may I know why?" Abigail asked, not feeling so good about the fact that she'll be in Enoch's house all by herself.

"Something came up at the work place, and I have to be there and attend to it." Enoch replied as he eat his food.

" Which of your work? The prison service or the company?" Abigail asked, looking away from Enoch, pretending to be eating her food.

Enoch was not surprised that Abigail knew he also runs his father's company, but what he worried about was how much she knew, and why she hasn't said anything about it. He contemplated on what to say and from where to start, not knowing what to keep or not keep away from her.

"Are you going to keep silent or talk?" Abigail asked, interrupting Enoch from his thoughts.

"The company belongs to my father you know,....." Enoch tried to communicate.

"And you are the CEO isn't it? So why can't you work from home?" She looked calm as she spoke, but Enoch knew from her words that there was pain in her.

"Queen, don't think I kept things about myself from you even though you told me all about you, I just wanted you to find out yourself, and I think you did well." Enoch said with a fake smile, but Abigail didn't respond.

"As you already know, am the second son and the third child of my parents, but I was the one my father kept by his side to look after his business. And now, he works from home so I can be upfront and do what the company needs, but I think I made a mistake and I need to fixe it on my own." Enoch begin to talk.

"Does it have anything to do with the other Abigail." Abigail asked with lots of jealousy in her voice. She couldn't even look at Enoch in the eyes as she spoke.

"I think so, but I have to be sure first. Can we not talk about her?" He answered, and even though he was getting angry, he couldn't let Abigail know.

"So tell me when we can talk about her, because I want to know why she and everyone says she's your wife to be while you say otherwise." Even though she looked calm, the pain and jealousy in her eyes and voice was not missed by Enoch.

"We were both betrothed at a very young age. I was fourteen and she was just twelve years then. I never liked the idea, but it's been in her mind that she's going to be my wife till now." Enoch said with a hint of anger in his voice.

"And you didn't do anything about it till now? Abigail question as she cleaned her lips with a napkin.

" There was no way I could do something about it, I was just a boy and all I knew was my father made the decision to get his company going, and if I object to his decision the company would go bankrupt.

Her father had offered to help my father with the money he needed to run the company, and even giving him twenty percent of the companys shares was not enough to pay for the money her father gave mine.

Her father, knowing what he wants, made a legal document attached to the loan documents and made my father sign it. He won't take his money back ever if I marry his daughter, and that money would be mine, but if I don't marry her then my father would have to pay three times the money with fourty percent current interest starting from the day the money was given to my dad. And that's a huge sum of money.

So at the age of fifteen, I decided to work in my father's company along with him so I could learn to make it better. That way, I'll be able to make money to pay the loan and also make my own decision on who I want to marry, but I had to play along with her as we were meant to be married soon.

At high school I meet someone. She was very beautiful and outspoken, and she made Efua felt threatened. I thought by dating her Efua would move on and break the alliance with me, but instead, she threatened the girl and forced her to stop schooling with us.

I was beginning to like the girl because she stood and fought with Efua just to be with me, but weeks later, pictures and videos popped up in the school that she was going out with the school's best basketball player.

I got hurt, but the west of it all was that I saw her with Efua and her group of friends, and she proved to me that everything they were saying was true and that she never liked me.

She stopped attending the school after, and with that, I dedicated all my time to my father's company. I even decided not to continue my education after high school, just so I could make my father's company a better one. And now here I am, the CEO but still that witch won't let me be." Enoch spoke his pain out for the first time.

"That means you can never break the alliance with her, since you can't pay back that money." Abigail asked, but it was more of a statement to herself.

" No that's not the case. According to my lawyers, seventy-five percent of the company's hard earned money can pay that loan now, but her father placed a condition that he'll take the money only if his daughter agrees not to marry me." Enoch said bitterly, and from how he held the fork and knife in a fist, he looked like he could kill instantly.

"Now that he knows I can pay back his money, he's doing all he can to stop me. He's going to my partners and convincing them to sell their shares to him at a lower price and I think his daughter is behind that idea." Enoch added when Abigail didn't say anything.

" And how do you know?" She asked.

"We both studied business, and she always brought that up as a way to gain majority of shares from companys in class. Am sure it her doing." Enoch said, while getting off his seat, and his food was barely touched.

Abigail looked confused. She didn't know how much more she needed to know about the man standing in front of her, and how she could even be of any help to him. Maybe she should just leave his life so he can marry Efua and save the company.

She knew even if Efua's father decides to take that money, it would also mean Enoch would be loosing his company and would have to start all over again. Would he even be able to go through that? Many questions flooded her mind as she got up from her seat as well.

"Let go to bed, it late already." Abigail said as she held Enoch's hand and lead the way to his room upstairs, without a word from either of them.

Enoch kept thinking. He didn't know how Abigail took everything that he just tood her. Was she going to pity him? Of course he didn't want that, but what if she gets scared for him instead. Maybe she'll leave him so he could do what his father wants, he didn't want that either. But what was he to do.

"What time will you be leaving? Enoch heard Abigail's voice asking, when he was almost lost in his thoughts.

" Tomorrow, before sunrise. But I can't tell when I'll be back." Enoch said without looking at Abigail. He sat on the bed and pulled his body up to the upper part of the bed then lean against the head of the bed.

" I don't want you to leave this house till I return, not even for a stroll outside. You are safe in here without me, but I can't promise you of what might happen when you go out of the house without me." Enoch warned, and all Abigail could do was smile as she nodded her head to agree.

She walked seductively and lay beside Enoch on the bed before making herself comfortable on his chest. She asked "Promise me one thing and you'll meet me here when you return home."

Enoch lifted her chine and looked at her before responding to her. " Tell me what you want, anything."

" Promise me you'll never ever leave me, not even when I ask you to. Promise you'll always stay by my side." Abigail said, looking at him with her hazel eyes.

" Oh my.. I thought she's the one going to leave me, but instead she wants me to promise not to leave her.... " Enoch thought as he smiled. He looked at Abigail closely in the eyes and said; " I promise never to leave you, not even when you ask me to."

He kissed her forehead and knowing it could take a while before they meet again, they decided to make the best out of the night and fucked till next morning.
