[Year 2023 - 10 minutes after Agent 47's Betrayal]
In the aftermath of the betrayal, tensions are high within BlackWatch. The director, a figure of authority, approaches Zack, one of the agents.
Director: Hey, Zack.
Zack: Yeah?
Director: I need you to respond to this distress call. You're the only agent available right now.
Zack's initial disinterest changes as he receives more information.
Zack: Not interested.
Director: (serious) That one agent you helped get into BlackWatch is there.
Zack's face contorts with realization. He knows the director is talking about Nastor, the agent he assisted in joining BlackWatch.
Without hesitation, Zack dials Amila's number.
Zack: (frustrated) What the hell did you do?
Amila: (calm but cautious) What are you talking about?
Zack: (agitated) WHAT DID YOU DO?
Amila: (reluctant) Okay, okay, relax. We can talk about this.
Zack: (demanding) WHAT. DID. YOU. DO?
Amila: (admitting) They were meant to kill Glitch.
Zack: (furious) WHAT DID YOU FUCKING DO?
Amila's voice trembles as she delivers the grim news.
Amila: Nastor is dead. I'm sorry, Zack.
Zack, overwhelmed by anger and grief, abruptly hangs up the phone. His emotions are a whirlwind as he storms into Agent 47's office, destroying anything that bears the traitorous agent's mark. His rage echoes through the empty office.
Leaving the wreckage behind, Zack returns home. In his bedroom, he pushes the bed aside, revealing a hidden hatch in the floor. He enters a code, unlocking a safe. Inside the safe is a note that he reads aloud: "Protocol 9465659DeltaZrJyu."
As he finishes reading, darkness descends, and Zack blacks out. When he awakens, he is no longer Zack Manstor, the BlackWatch agent. He's just himself, in a place he doesn't recognize. A note nearby catches his attention.
Note: "Hey, it's me... I'm you. You don't remember writing this, and the last thing you remember was going to a bar with a couple of your friends from the FBI, getting drunk. Now you woke up here."
On the back of the note, Zack finds a set of instructions. They provide him with guidance on where to hide, what to do to stay safe, and a stark warning that dangerous individuals are pursuing him, even though he doesn't understand why.
For over a year, Zack follows these instructions diligently, living a life in hiding, constantly looking over his shoulder. He survives by relying on his instincts and the cryptic directives from the note.
However, the cat-and-mouse game eventually comes to an end. Agent 47, persistent and resourceful, finally tracks Zack down. He apprehends him and brings him in.
Inside the facility, Agent 47 scours the old protocol books, searching for the one correct protocol that will activate Zack and unlock the secrets buried within his altered identity.
