Inside his head, Vernox and the demon seems to be fighting on equal footing now. They threw punches and kicks but they both blocked each others attacks.
Vernox punched the demon on its face and scratched it's chest before kicking it backwards. Vernox seems to have an upper hand as he has claws and the demon doesn't.
He already knocked the chain mace out of it's hand.
"I must say.... you're quite strong. But this is where you die!!"
The demon then raised his hands up and red aura started gathering around him.
Noticing this, Vernox eyes lit up as his eyes focuses on it's victims.
'He's finally using it, now's the chance'
Vernox jumped forward towards the demon. He put his fingers close to each other in a cone shape and impaled his hand through the demon's chest...
The demon coughed up blood as Vernox's hand went through and the energy which it was gathering dispersed. Vernox didn't stop there as he slashed the devil's neck with his claws.
The demon stared wide eyed as the hand came out from his chest and he fell to the ground in shock. The demon smiled and with it's last breath it said something in a low tone that Vernox managed to hear.
"Young demon. Your journey has just began." The demon then fell to the floor, lifeless.
What actually happened was quite simple, the demon was about to use it's ultimate skill called 'massive wave', but it takes 3 seconds to charge and Vernox used that advantage to finally kill the demon.
He slashed at the devil's throat after wards because the devil could curse it's killer before he died so he slashed at the throat. The fact that it was able to still murmur something to him meant that it could have cursed him.
Or was it... Telepathy.

'Haa...that was so crazy. I almost got killed'
He then slowly reverted into his normal form. A light suddenly enveloped him and he woke up in the real world.
"I'm back?!" Vernox opened his eyes.
His hands were no longer on the sword of Satan's hilt. He grabbed the sword again and this time a red aura enveloped both him and the sword.
It wasn't painful but instead, Vernox started feeling a connection to the sword through this red aura.
"Arghh." Vernox immediately felt a sharp pain in his head as he clutched his head with his hands.
This pain was almost unbearable and he held head tightly as he started seeing memories. Veins appeared on his head as his eyes turned bloodshot red. He collapsed on the floor and fell unconscious.

It wasn't up to twenty Minutes, Vernox opened his eyes to find the roof of the cave there.

He was speechless seeing the new skills he got. He recognized the first two but the third one was new to him.
"Hehe...now I have a trump of my own"
He then saw that he has a lot of points to be assigned from leveling up.
"What stats should I put it in now?"
He glanced at all of them.

'What happens if I put a stat in soul energy'
He decided to try it out and allocated one point into soul energy.

'So one stat point in soul energy is equal to 100 soul energy.....First of all, let's complete this'
He then added more points into soul energy.

"Next... My strength and speed."

He added thirty points into speed and agility and added twenty one points to his strength stat. He scanned through the screen one more time before he closed it.
Turns out he could summon the system screen with his thoughts.
The sword in his hand suddenly vanished.

'crest?'
He checked himself very well and indeed he saw the symbol of a demon skull on his shoulder.
'it's kind of cool though'
He then got up and that's when he noticed that Minova wasn't there.
"Where did this girl go to now?"
As he was about to go and find her she came back into the cave for some reason.
"Where were you?"
"My Lord, I went to explore the caves and I found a soul crystal"
'hmm?' he got confused because a soul crystal was not supposed to be in the caves.
"Let me see"
She brought out a small red crystal from her little purse.
'I see...that's no ordinary soul crystal. It's quite powerful. Maybe she can use it'
"That's good, you can have it. Now let's go before any monster finds us."
He grabbed his robe and put it on as he prepared to leave.
"Yes, my Lord"
She followed him behind as they left the cave. They then went towards the dragon. Seeing this, Minova got scared.
"My lord, why are we going to that dragon."
"I want to own it!" Vernox said with a wide smile.
