When Beth heard what Vernox said, she was shocked. She wondered whether Vernox has lost his sense of reasoning.
Although he was at the soul king level, it didn't mean that he could take on the guardian of the forest.
She sighed as her face turned sad and she said, "I know you wouldn't listen to me but, make sure to come back safely. You promised me a compensation, a good one."
Vernox only smiled and replied, "I promise I'll return safely."
This his childhood friend was the only one he could trust right now. Although she had a playful character, she was still a kind and considerate person, the kind of people he liked.
With that, they settled. Vernox made his way out of the castle gates that was a whole three metres tall.
A purple haired beautiful girl with blue eyes who was training in the compound suddenly sights Vernox and scoffs in disgust when she saw him.
It was not normal that Fiona would hate Vernox bit it was due to the fact that he was in love with her and she knew. The demons would most likely mate with a strong male as strong offspring was important in this kingdom.
Fiona decided not to asked where he is going and just continued practicing her fire magic on some dolls.

Vernox saw the guards at the gate and just nodded at them as they opened the gate for him.
The guards didn't even stop him and just bowed down as they saw him.
Most of the guards still respected him. Even if he couldn't evolve his soul core which is the path to power in this world, he has still done a lot of things for the kingdom when he was younger so no one could disrespect him.
Going to a stable that was close to the castle, he met an old demon with brown horns curving upwards indicating that he was a dragon kin.
"Hello there!"
"Ah! My prince, what brings you to the royal stable?"
'I came to eat cake.' Vernox thought when he heard the man's question.
What do people do at a stable? This man...
"I just want a horse, and a fast one at that."
Hearing his request, the man immediately nodded and went into the stable, Vernox could hear various animal sounds from within the stable.
There were other creatures used as mounts by people but Vernox decided to stick to riding what couldn't eat him.
What he was more worried about was the plague monsters called the corrupted roaming this world.
A few years ago a curse spread around this part of the world. The world of Daeth is almost like earth. There are still three divisions of lands seperated by water. The lands were by no means small.
The continent where Vernox was currently was where the human kingdoms Camelot and Jornix were.
Back to the plague, it is said to be a curse that affects all living things. When infected, the victim gets posessed by dark emotions like anger and lust.
And basically, the stronger their dark emotions, the stronger the corrupted will be.
This has been an issue for Azure kingdom too since they were also on this part of the world. What was making Vernox afraid was that, this plague/curse has no limits and can even corrupt a powerful person.
Vernox just hoped on luck that he wouldn't encounter any powerful corrupted on the way.

A few minutes later the stable man came back with a black horse. The horse seems to be wearing armour on some part of its body.
This was the royal stable so how can the mounts not be fancy as well.
As there is nothing else he needs he mounted the horse and he proceeded to grab on the reign.
'I've never ridden one of these before but it shouldn't be that hard. Forward bend and flick'
He flicked the reign of the horse and immediately the horse neighed as it started running in a direction, out of the city.
"Well what do you know, it was easy," he said as he made a turn and balanced the horse.
There are four safe points to rest but if the horse is fast enough they'll get there in two days, only stopping at two places.

Damien was looking out the window, he watched Vernox leaving the kingdom on the horse and smiled happily.
"Why are you smiling, my prince?"
Looking back he saw a beautiful maid with long blue hair and cute brown eyes. She had fair and smooth skin that made her look extremely beautiful in the sunlight. Her shirt was a little bit open, revealing her breasts a little.
Damien didn't seem to be phased by her beauty and immediately looked out the window again with his constant smile.
"I'm glad that, he could get back up on his feet and not give up."
The maid behind him chuckled silently behind Damien's back.
She then changed her tone to a sad one in an instant.
"Too bad he has that curse." She said in a very sad tone.
"Sasha, don't underestimate the power of will. As long as one's will was strong enough, he can accomplish anything."
Sasha, the blue haired maid who was also his personal maid smiled mischievously as she thought,'Not in this case. I poisoned him myself.'
Sasha only poisoned the second prince because he was almost stronger than her master.
She wanted her master to be king so she took the risk and poisoned Vernox's food one day.
She knew that if Damien found out, she'll probably be killed but she just wants to assist her master anyway she can.
Little did she know that, someone already knew of what she did.
