Zachery had gathered all of his relatives and friends and reconstituted his army by mowing down the enemy army. There was almost no one who could stand up to the current Zachery, Ragnar, Primal Bear union.
The Tribe Head's aura looked like a roaring red blood tide with no end in sight. Moldjur, with each swing of his big axe, 5 or 6 skulls fell as if it were a bloodbath.
"Lea...ve m...e" As Zachery mowed down the opposition ranks, he heard a barely discernible voice. Zachery shook his head with an angry growl as he bellowed hot air out of his nose, harrumphing.
He'd abandon her right here. He would ensure her safety, then fully reassemble his army before picking her up and leading another charge to bring this nightmare to an end.
Ragnar, on the other hand, adamantly opposed. It wasn't simply a lack of intelligence; it was also the amount of emotional connection they shared. In short, the kid was head over heels in love with his sheildmaiden.
When Zachery entered the Mother System, he lost his hero complex. The Lifts and ordeals of the Mother System had done wonders for Zachery's personality.
He wouldn't call his personality perfect, but it was adequate for survival. He was not kind to everyone as much as he was not cruel to everyone.
The proof was right in front of him. He was mowing sown ordinary people who had family waiting for them at their homes. Sweet daughters like Edda, lovely wives like... well, he didn't have an example for that.
But, getting back to the subject, shedding this much blood would make many strong-hearted people feel enormous guilt, but Zachery didn't care. In instances like these, he would let his analytical side take over.
But he wasn't just a cold machine who only cared about himself. And the proof was strewn across his back like a potato sack.
Astrid, Ragnar's shieldmaiden, was seriously wounded, but she would press on if there were no more wounds that might complicate her internal injuries. After all, she was a Rank 1 warrior.
If Zachery was a cold, analytical machine, he would have walked away without looking her in the eyes. But he didn't and heard the wish of Ragnar.
Ragnar had technically signed his soul to Zachery in exchange for a second chance and power after signing the contract.
So, because Ragnar was effectively a slave, he didn't have to listen to Ragnar. But he heard him and granted his wish.
It wasn't for no reason. Ragnar would harbour anger towards Zachery at all times if he left her alone, constituting a threat to Zachery's sovereignty.
Ragnar would harbour anger towards Zachery at all times if he left her alone, constituting a threat to Zachery's sovereignty.
He recalled the difficult effort of winning everything and never losing a battle. He had to verify that variables that would appear at random in his path were carefully eliminated.
Wait, doesn't that make him a guy who saved the shieldmaiden only on the basis of what good it would do him?
Anyway, Alexa had stressed that 'winning a battle' meant the big picture, not minor skirmishes like this. If never losing was taken literally, so many troops had died in his honour, but he was still standing.
That affirmed Zachery's belief that what never losing meant was the bigger picture.
Ahhh! Whatever.
Ragnar cut down the last of the enemy troops that had arrived at point B as he gazed about at the forlorn buildings and bodies lying all over the region. The streets and alleyways were stained with blood and bones, but there was an eerie calm, as not even the wind dared to make a sound.
Ragnar and his 356-man army marched as quickly as they could. Many were covered in varied degrees of wounds as they laboriously moved towards point A, aka the inner walls.
However, Zachery became aware of energy fluctuations from everywhere around them.
Zachery narrowed his eyes as he noticed black-cloaked people wearing black skeleton masks appear out of nowhere.
'Here it comes, system duckers,' Zachery cursed. oblivious to the fact that he was cursing himself as well.
Every single one of them was a Rank 2 or Rank 3 warrior with tremendous strength or vitality. Ragnar trembled and Zachery narrowed his eyes; were there other individuals like us in my world? Ragnar was flustered.
Zachery shook his head, every single person standing here didn't have a system, yet the air around them screamed that the person behind them did.
Zachery had dealt with these vexing bugs and understood how much trouble they were.
So he had to walk carefully in this circumstance where things may go very wrong very quickly.
"Hmmm... That is an incredible technique you have there," It was a voice that sounded similar to one we might hear on an encrypted voice app.
It wasn't human, but it felt all the emotions that humans have. His lackey appeared to have the power to communicate with individuals from a vast distance.
"It appears you're interested in it, huh?" Zachery replied with a toothy grin, his husky and harsh voice echoing across the lonely passageway. When Zachery entered this union state, he saw that his vocal chords had small alterations, which was good for looking cool.
"...Yes, if you could provide that, I could assure you that we would leave here peacefully." The speaker was standing on a pole draped in the Leon empire's flag.
"I'm afraid that's not possible, skeleton-masked guy," Zachery curled his lip upward as he glanced at the black-cloaked folks getting ready to fight.
"Oh? Are you positive?" Zachery nodded as the masked man inquired.
"In order for the technique to be passed down, I need time, which I don't have much of right now. My men are injured and fatigued. My woman is in critical condition, thus my first objective right now is to enter the castle."
"But don't worry, we'll talk about the technique once I get back to my holdings. I'll teach you my method for the right price. After all, I don't want to meddle with someone who has specialized gadgets." Zachery offered a meaningful smile, but no one responded.
Zachery had stressed the last words so that the other party would get what he was saying correctly.
But Zachery was certain that the owner of the system would be disturbed by his sentence on the other end. He would approach Zachery with caution, regardless of his predictable personality.
After all, he was now a system holder as well. He'd be familiar with them.
