Chapter 15 - 15. THE PALACE OF DEATH

In order to test out his new fortune, Zachery excused himself to his daughter and then walked right into the restroom.

At first, Zachery was in the bathroom seeing his reflection, but the next moment, he was outside of his body.

His white, ethereal figure shone. But he was astounded as he looked at his actual body!

Because his body was literally moving!!!

His physical body smiled as it viewed itself in the mirror. While Zachery was in a panic, it got up, walked out of the bathroom, and sat down next to Edda.

[Relax, while you deal with and organize the palace. I'll look after everything here!] With a smile on her face, Alexa said telepathically as she observed Zachery's ghostly body.

While sitting next to Edda and watching the show, "Zachery" gave her a gentle pat on the head and smiled like a mother would.

He shrugged as he heard her response. He took a leap of faith with her; Zachery had some faith in Alexa because she was the one who had brought Zachery back to his daughter. He also didn't want to scare his daughter any further by taking his time in the bathroom.

But this also raised another problem that Zachery had.

Everything was alright now, but this interaction raised the threat Alexa posed in Zachery's life.

He would have to completely rearrange his plans.

There was no reason to accomplish all of this if Alexa's purpose was to end his life. It was not worth the effort. So Zachery calmed his paranoid mind by looking about his living room for the so-called palace.

Alexa merely grumbled as she redirected him again; to be honest, Alexa's host was a bit tiresome and difficult to deal with. On the other side, if you could get beyond his wall, he was the most lovely and warm person Alexa had ever met.

And it wasn't as though Zachery had always been like this way... When Alexa remembered Zachery's previous exes, her expression twisted into a venomous scowl, as if she wanted nothing more than to humiliate them as much as they had humiliated Zachery.

Alexa chuckled as she noticed Zachery still wandering the entire room like a lost child. She recalled why she had selected him to be her Alpha.

Even though he had been like a lost child his whole life, there had to be a reason why Omniverse's two most powerful powerhouses wanted him to be their successor.

As she stared at her Alpha, Alexa smugly grinned. She had to admit that even if her sisters spent eons searching for the perfect Alpha, they would not be able to locate such a rare find as her.

In short, if Zahcery could develop past his early years, he would be unsurpassed in every manner.

'Sense your body,' Alexa whispered telepathically as she patted the adorable little minx, who was grinning from all the attention she was getting.

Zachery ceased his frantic searches and sent a spirit pulse through his body. He diligently investigated his body from top to bottom and eventually discovered an unusual organ inside his body.

Inside his body, near his midsection, was a pure black ball. It whirled around lazily, exuding a sense of mystery and strength.

The black ball was inside his abdomen, spinning silently ahead toward his gut. The ball was so little, virtually pea-sized, that it didn't interfere with his other organs' functions.

Zachery threw a pulse of spirit inside this black ball in an attempt to explore it, but the moment the pulse enveloped the black ball, Zachery's surroundings changed as he found himself in a dark corridor with a castle-like ambiance.

Zachery glanced at the stone, which was a night-black color and gleamed with its own luster. Zachery peered forward as he noticed many torch stands illuminating the corridor with blue flames.

Zachery trailed his hands to the smooth black marble-like item, astounded by the sheer architecture of the entire passageway.

Each 5 meters of the hallway was split by an archway with detailed artwork depicting past events. The war of Angels and demons, Titans and Gods, and other figures were intricately carved into the archway as Zachery proceeded.

Each of the torch stands was additionally adorned with intricate runic spells that caused the blue flames to burn indefinitely. Zachery moved slowly across the corridor, each step producing an audible sound in the otherwise silent corridor.

Finally, Zachery spotted an end to this unreasonably long corridor, but something else entered Zachery's ears as he came to a halt.

TINK

'A blacksmith?' As he heard the all-too-similar sound from his journey onward, Zachery thought inside his head.

TINK

Zachery went forward slowly but steadily as he approached the end of the archway... only to be met by a magnificent hall of weapons.

TINKK

"Hmmm?" A man with blonde hair and a beard gazed at Zachery, muttering loudly. The figure was at least 6 feet tall, with one eye a regular brown and the other a brilliant golden color.

Both of the man's limbs were practically cybernetic in appearance, but the intricate weaving of runic magic flowing through them indicated otherwise.

The man smoked a cigarette, which produced golden smoke that crackled in the air with each puff. The man put down his cigarette and frowned at Zachery.

"A breach into de Hinthara without alerting my defense mechanisms. Now, I have somet'eng interesting 'ere, aye," The man muttered this with a loud accent, looking at Zachery as if he were some exotic meat, but then, the next moment, he dropped his hammer, which landed with a resounding thump.

The man's body trembled as he saw Zachery, and soon his eyes turned watery as he shouted, "The Death's Descended!"
