In the early morning, Haruka awakens feeling tired, yawns, and walks out of her room. On her way to get a cup of water, she encounters Setsuna. Groggily, Setsuna greets her, "morning," and they head downstairs together. The aroma of delicious food fills the air, and upon entering the kitchen, they find Takahisa busy cooking breakfast for everyone. It's been roughly a week since he moved in, and he has proven to be quite helpful around the house. He takes care of meals, keeps things organized, and overall contributes positively. Haruka reflects that she wasn't expecting this level of assistance when he mentioned moving in, but it's a pleasant surprise.
Afterward, Haruka heads to school. Takahisa is walking behind her in the same attire she first saw him in at school. They start walking to school together. Meanwhile, Aya and Yuki notice Haruka with Takahisa and run over. "Hey, Haruka, how's your morning?" Yuki said. Confused, Yuki questions why Haruka is with the new kid from class. Haruka explains that she didn't recognize him at first and then introduces him. "Takahisa is my cousin who recently came from out of town." Takahisa greets them shyly. "Hi, it's nice to meet you all. Well, gotta go," and he heads off to school. They all watch as he runs away from them. "Must have first meeting jitters," Aya said, and they all walk on.
At school, Haruka observes Takahisa and notices a few things about him. Firstly, he is studious and attentive in class, making good notes. Secondly, he tends to eat alone during lunch and keeps a low profile, avoiding unnecessary interactions with others. Finally, she also notices that Takahisa reads alone in the corner of the library. He has a bit of a smirk when doing so. She's not sure what exactly he's reading, but he seems to be enjoying himself. As school comes to an end during the nightfall, Haruka does her evening patrol. She goes from roof to roof, surveying the buildings, and then she spots a demon. "Found one," she says and hones in on her target. She sneaks up on it, ready to strike, but before she can, it's killed instantly. There stands Takahisa in uniform, ahead of her. Again, her kill is taken. He's a skilled ninja with overall good technique, making her a bit jealous.
Back at home, Haruka is laying down on her bed, reading through the scroll again, looking at the various techniques. However, she's not really focused because on her mind, she's thinking about how Takahisa is pretty good at what he does. Whether it's at home, school, or patrolling, she can't shake the unease she feels. In a way, she feels a little inferior compared to him. Still, she doesn't hate him or anything. Another thing that pops into her head is that she doesn't know him too well and decides to talk to him a bit. So, she gets up and heads to his room. She walks along the hall, eventually standing in front of his door. There, she breathes in and out, deciding to knock. Before she can, she hears a thud and asks, "Hey, Takahisa, are you alright? I just heard something," with a worried tone. She then hears a voice and scurrying in the room. "Just a second, I was just cleaning up," he said, moving around behind the door. Another thing falls, and she decides to walk in.
With sheer shock in her eyes, she sees his room filled with posters, manga figures, and a mess of all sorts of stuff. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. He's been here for a week, and she hasn't been in his room once. But she didn't think it was this messy. There, she sees Takahisa on the floor, trying to pick up his things. He looks up at her with a worried grin and says, "Hey, Haruka, hehe, sorry you have to see me like this," as he apologizes for the mess. Surprised, Haruka is not really angry or anything, just surprised. If anything, she didn't expect to know quite a lot of stuff was in here. She asks, "When did all this stuff get here?" and he admits it's been here a while. She says, "I can see that," and then asks why it's all here in the first place. He explains that the reason it's all here is that it relates to him leaving the ninja village. She finds out the reason he's here is that, back in the ninja village, there wasn't much to do other than train and explore the forest. Truth be told, Takahisa was a massive otaku who loved anime and manga, all sorts of nerdy stuff. However, he couldn't really get it at the village and found bits of stuff here and there along his missions when killing demons. Growing very attracted to all this stuff, he formed this hobby and worked hard at the village until he was eventually allowed to go off and live in the town where Haruka lives. He wanted to come because he wanted to experience all the cool stuff that he missed out on while in the village and fully embraced his hobby. Haruka could understand, but she's still pretty surprised. Now she sees him in a new light and doesn't feel inferior compared to him. She decides to go back to her room. After this revelation, she no longer harbored those feelings of unease. Realizing that Takahisa had his own struggles and joys, and that he was genuinely enjoying himself here, she felt genuinely happy for him.
