"Dragolisk? The name alone seems a bit intimidating," Reeve said as he watched the monster from afar with Gifford. "It seems to be quite a dangerous monster."
They had no choice but to wait and watch the surroundings. If they were rash, it would undoubtedly threaten their lives.
Because they didn't know what other monsters were roaming in the nearby forest, it would definitely make more noise if they suddenly attacked.
"Yes, I heard they are one of the dangerous monsters," said Gifford.
"Dragolisk is a monster of high level, and this monster also has a dragon bloodline, whereas a full-grown Dragolisk has a level above 300." Said Gifford explaining, as far as he knew about Dragolisk, to Gifford.
"As for a baby Dragolisk, at least the monster will be level 100 or even more, I guess," Gifford added.
Reeve was entirely surprised by what Gifford said; he was not sure he could defeat the monster, especially for the baby alone at least had a level almost twice his level.
This time the scale of the monster outbreak did look odd. With the appearance of monsters like this, if not dealt with as soon as possible, no one would know the fate of Lizhi Village.
"Gifford, you try asking for help from the other adventurer in the village; I will try to hold that baby monster here," said Reeve, immediately asking Gifford to leave.
Gifford hadn't rushed away yet, still there silently while looking doubtfully at Reeve.
Reeve realized that, and now the two stared at each other.
"What's wrong?" Reeve asked Gifford in surprise.
"Are you going to hold off that monster by yourself while I call the other adventurers?" This time Gifford looked at Reeve with a serious expression. "Are you really sure, Reeve?"
Reeve began to look a little annoyed with Gifford's long-winded questions and seemed to be wasting time; he then pushed Gifford's body away with a hand gesture to ask him to go for help.
Gifford's question also actually made Reeve hesitate. Can he hold the monster until help arrives? Because even though this monster was still in the baby phase, the body size between him and the monster alone was already quite different.
"Alright, now it's just you and me" Reeve looked seriously at Baby Dragolisk from a distance.
Then Reeve ran towards the baby Dragolisk to attack it. The fight between the two began; the monster seemed to be trying to fight back, and Reeve kept trying to hit the monster's body.
"Instant Strike"
Reeve attacked the baby Dragolisk with his skill directly to its head. With this skill, Reeve can rush toward the enemy and perform attacks with lightning movements.
In other words, this skill is a skill that emphasizes speed.
Reeve's quick attack was able to aim at baby Dragolisk's head swiftly, but something happened beyond Reeve's expectations.
"Clang"
Reeve's dagger that hit the baby Dragolisk's head shook and made a resounding sound.
"What? The scales of this monster are so hard." Reeve was surprised that the result of his attack was in vain; even the scales of this monster were not scratched in the slightest.
At first, the battle was evenly matched, both of them bringing out their abilities. Still, in the following exchange of attacks, Reeve slowly seemed to be getting overwhelmed.
Moreover, all his attacks were unsuccessful in hurting the baby monster's body. The scales on this monster's skin were quite hard; his attacks had no effect at all.
Reeve stopped for a moment while catching his breath. The other adventurer that Gifford had called still had yet to arrive.
He had to keep this monster here; if he got away from there and approached the village, it would be dangerous for everyone. On the other hand, if he went too far into the forest, it would be dangerous for him.
"Damn, these monsters are on too different levels. It looks like my stamina will run out first," Reeve complained as his breathing continued to get heavy. " Backup still hasn't arrived yet, has it?"
Reeve's current level of only 60 would definitely not be able to defeat this baby Dragolisk where at least this monster had a level of 100. Even with the help of other adventurers from the village, he was not sure that they could immediately defeat a monster of this caliber.
Reeve only hoped that at least the presence of other adventurers from the village could slightly increase the attack power against this monster.
However, there was no time for Reeve to wait for them; he continued to try to attack the monster.
At one point, when Reeve was aiming for the hind legs of this monster, the baby Dragolisk moved its tail and hit Reeve's body; he didn't have time to dodge because he was too tired, and with enough force, Reeve was thrown far away.
His back hit the tree trunk very hard. Reeve fell down, and from there, his mouth spurted fresh blood.
That's when Gifford and some adventurers from the village arrived. They were surprised by the state of Reeve, who looked quite injured.
"Reeve, what happened? Are you okay?" Gifford panicked to the point of asking about the state right in front of his eyes.
Even so, Reeve tried to get up; Gifford held him back, then Gifford pulled Reeve's body slightly away while the other adventurers prepared to attack the Dragolisk baby.
"You just rest here for a while; now it's my turn and the rest of the adventurers," Gifford said.
"I can still move, Gifford; let me help," Reeve said, looking slightly in pain.
"Take it easy, you just rest here," Gifford replied to Reeve's words by patting his shoulder to calm him down and let him rest for a while.
After saying that, Gifford immediately left Reeve and joined the other adventurers.
They begin to attack the monster with the full power they have.
"Ice Drizzle"
"Roaring Flame"
"Heat Punch"
Despite their unified strength, they were unable to do any damage to the monster's body.
"I heard that this monster's scales are tough." Gifford, who was watching from the side, muttered. "But I didn't expect it to be this extreme."
"Even the combined attacks of several adventurers remain completely ineffective." Gifford let out a long sigh and looked a little hopeless.
Gifford, who usually had some brilliant plans, also seemed to have no ideas; no plans came out of his head; on the other hand, Reeve was injured while Hakan was on standby elsewhere.
Therefore he could only rely on himself and the adventurers here.
"We must continue to attack the monster until we know its weak point," said Gifford.
Suddenly the baby Dragolisk released a powerful attack that looked like some kind of Dragon's Breath from its mouth. Instead of fire, it looked like an energy strong enough to defeat them.
The existing adventurers, including Gifford, finally fell and were injured due to this attack.
"Damn, what kind of attack was that."
"My barrier was not strong enough to withstand it, and it shattered instantly."
"That, that attack is very similar to the Dragon's Breath of the Dragon clan!"
The other adventurers could be heard raving about the effect of this baby Dragolisk's attack, which they considered very powerful.
Seeing that Reeve tried to rise to his feet, it was at that moment that Reeve remembered the dagger given by Elio. Reeve then told Gifford that he seemed to have a plan to defeat this baby Dragolisk.
"Gifford, alright, just leave the monster to me," Reeve spoke to Gifford, who was still lying on the ground, not far from his position. "I think I've rested enough just now."
"Are you sure about that?" asked Gifford, slowly getting up and looking a little worried.
"Take it easy," replied Reeve as he looked at Gifford calmly but seriously.
Gifford was silent; if Reeve had said that, he was sure that Reeve would have found a way out.
"This time, I will definitely not fail to protect the people I care about," Reeve said in his heart. He clenched his hands tightly together with resolve.
The villagers were his priority after his parents, and Luccy were gone. Now the people in the village were his family, including Gifford and Hakan.
