Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: Baby Dragolisk Defeated

Reeve then opened the jacket under his armor and took out the dagger that Elio had given him.

The dagger emitted a freezing air the moment Reeve drew it out from its sheath.

The smoke rising from the dagger's blade resembled melting ice, which indicated an unusual coldness.

The baby Dragolisk realized Reeve's presence there, who already seemed to rise to his feet; the baby Dragolisk roared, then tried to attack Reeve.

Not willing to be outdone, Reeve ran towards the baby Dragolisk staring at him with savage eyes. The monster tried to attack with its sharp claws, but Reeve dodged to the side in time.

"Take this!" Reeve jumped, swung his ice dagger quickly, and aimed it at the baby Dragolisk's leg.

The dagger came into contact with the baby Dragolisk's scales and seemed to pierce through them and wound the monster's leg. Causing the sharp cold of the blade to penetrate directly into its flesh, instantly making the baby Dragolisk roar in pain.

Reeve then landed with a heavy breath. Meanwhile, the baby Dragolisk retreated slightly, seemingly taking a stance, and attacked from afar with a deadly dragon's breath-like attack.

People who saw that attack would be worried for Reeve's safety, and Gifford was no exception.

"Reeve, watch out!" shouted Gifford with a panicked face.

However, Reeve was not going to let the attack hurt him. Reeve raised the ice dagger in his hand and concentrated on it. His ice dagger began to glow brightly as if gathering power.

When the dragon's breath-like attack approached, Reeve powerfully swung the ice dagger toward the dragon's breath, and an explosion of light occurred.

The cold air was emitted in all directions, dispelling the dragon's breath attack even to the point of dazzling the eyes of everyone in the place. As soon as the glow disappeared, the baby Dragolisk fell to the ground with a weak body.

"You did it, Reeve! That weapon successfully repelled that dragon's breath-like attack just now!" said Gifford as he approached his good friend. "You really did well, buddy!"

Reeve smiled gently and said, "This dagger was a gift from Mr. Elio. It seems he knew what he was giving to me. I guess I really should thank him later."

Although in truth, Reeve also still could not believe what he had done. He was already injured quite a bit if not for his determination to protect his village and his loved ones.

Coupled with this weapon that Elio gave him was not only remarkable but also extraordinary. This dagger gave the user power as if the user's level had risen many times over from what it actually was.

"I'll finish this." Reeve then got up again, walking slowly towards the weakened baby Dragolisk.

"Be careful, Reeve," Gifford advised with a face full of worry.

In front of Reeve now lay the weakened baby Dragolisk that had been troublesome and injured him. He then swung the ice dagger in his hand. The dagger moved seemingly towards the baby Dragolisk's weak spot on its chest.

Although in truth, Reeve was also still trying to figure out if the chest was this monster's weak point. However, isn't it generally the weak point of living creatures like humans and animals, either in the chest or head?

Reeve thought that, as far as he knew, monsters usually had this kind of weakness too.

The monster moved slightly and tried to block Reeve's attack using its remaining strength with its sharp claws, but Reeve had predicted this, so he dodged to the side.

After dodging the baby Dragolisk's desperate attack, Reeve struck again from an angle the baby Dragolisk couldn't reach and stabbed its heart with all his might.

The monster roared in pain for a moment, but soon it was no longer moving.

From a distance, Gifford stared at Reeve in disbelief; he seemed to see that Reeve did not do such a great battle. It was nearly impossible before, and Reeve turned it around instantly.

Then Gifford saw that Reeve was starting to faint, his body shook, and he fell. Gifford ran over.

"Reeve, are you alright?" said Gifford worriedly as he was near Reeve.

Gifford helped Reeve up and away from that monster's corpse. Reeve just smiled as he limped along. His body was weak as the fierce battle had injured his internal organs, and some of his bones seemed broken, leaving him completely exhausted.

Gifford brought Reeve's body to rest under a tree near the battlefield.

Not long after, a group of army soldiers wearing full armor all over their bodies suddenly arrived.

A person wearing a slightly different full armor is leading at the front of this army. It seemed that he was the leader of this army. And next to the leader of this army were two people who appeared to be adventurers because they were not wearing full armor and were only wearing light armor, typical of an adventurer.

"This..." The leader stopped and looked dumbfounded by the scene in front of him. "What exactly has happened here?"

On the other hand, from a distance somewhere in the Black Forest, a young man was wearing an all-black robe with a hood feeling irritated and angry. He, who had been watching Reeve's battle with the baby Dragolisk through an orb in his hand, was so angry that he slammed the orb down.

"Damn! How can someone beat my beloved pet! It's my favorite hard-earned pet!" The young man cursed angrily.

"No one should be able to defeat my pet monster in this country. Especially in a village like that, a remote village."

"What's with that adventurer's dagger...?" This young man still seemed to be babbling in annoyance. "Weapons like it shouldn't exist in a remote village like that."

"Young master, we'd better head back now because there's nothing we can do if the knight's army comes," said a well-built man who turned out to be the hooded young man's bodyguard.

The hooded young man was silent. He gave Reeve a glance, still visible in the orb fragments, with an angry look. He then turned around and walked away, stomping his feet furiously.

As the two walked down the path, still in the black forest area, the young man with the black hood saw a human, none other than Elio.

" I found it at last!" A ghastly smile instantly appeared on the black hooded young man's face. "I finally found someone to vent my frustration on."

The bodyguard followed the black-hooded young man's gaze and saw Elio. The bodyguard immediately understood the meaning of his master's words. But to be sure, the bodyguard asked, "Does the young master want me to do it now?"

"What do you think?! I'm angry right now." The young man with the black hood replied angrily to his bodyguard's question. "And just seeing someone die can make me feel relieved again."

"Quickly find a way to lure that person." The young man with the black hood immediately told his bodyguard to make a plan to trap Elio.
