*BEEP BEEP BEEP* [Training dummy level 2 successfully defeated. Please wait for the training dummy to fully heal before continuing.]
After nearly three hours of continuously attacking the training dummy, improving minute after minute, Yune had finally also managed to defeat the level 2 training dummy.
In these three hours, Yune became even more accustom to the twin blades in his hands, his attack speed having picked up dramatically while his accuracy had also become more precise. Overall, the wielding of the blades had become way more intuitive as he kept at it, burning muscle memory in each and every little movement he performed.
But this was not enough, a desire to keep going was burning somewhere deep down.
And Yune had no intention to ignore this desire as he was now already standing in front of another training dummy, the level 3 training dummy which he previously could barely even scratch.
Not wasting any more time, Yune started attacking the level 3 training dummy just like he had been doing for the previous two. With the first hit he landed with the blade, a small but long cut got etched into the training dummy.
'I really did improve a lot, didn't I?' Yune thought, a smile having naturally formed on his face.
Compared to the first time he had attacked the training dummy, it not even having left a scratch, this current result was like night and day.
And even though this cut wasn't nearly enough to defeat the level three training dummy, the first cuts on the level 1 and 2 training dummies weren't nearly enough either, but he had also managed to eventually defeat them.
So, Yune wasn't demotivated by this seemingly small cut and just continued like normal, slashing away at the training dummy with the intent to do inflict more damage, swing his blades faster, and most of all, improve.
After nearly an hour, however, Yune realized to have reached a limit. His progress was starting to slow down a little, now not improving as fast as before anymore. Despite having kept up his attacks for about an hour, Yune wasn't close to defeating the level three training dummy at all.
Even though Yune's attack were fast and precise, they didn't do much damage. While attacking the training dummy, Yune had continually switched from a decreased weight of 20% and his normal weight to regain enough mana again to do maximum weight reduction instead of continuously decreasing his weight by around 10%.
Switching between these two styles, Yune came to the realization that the damage he was dealing while at his normal weight were doing more damage to the level three training dummy in contrast to his faster speed having been better against training dummy level 1 and 2.
Coming to this realization, Yune stopped to think about why this was, and then remembered what Noah Cain had said: 'Against an enemy with higher defenses, a higher attacking strength is needed.'
This meant that it would be better to use the spear, but this was on the basis that he could put more power behind the spear, what Yune couldn't yet effectively do as he still hadn't figured out how to increase his gravity instead of decreasing it.
Because of this, Yune felt like he had hit a wall in his progress, but that desire to improve was still burning deep inside of him showing no signs of dying down.
And even though the attacks of his twin blades were still getting sharper and more powerful, it had also slowed down compared to when Yune first started. So, now really felt like he had to take a step in another direction. And that direction was as clear as day for Yune: using his powers to increase gravity.
Looking around, Yune could see that all the other students now also had a weapon and were swinging them in the open or at one of the training dummies. Even though it had already been four hours since practical class had begun, not a single student had left yet.
That also goes for Noah Cain, who was still in the gymnasium overlooking the students.
Seeing as Noah Cain didn't have a que of students in front of him anymore, Yune immediately took this chance and went up to Noah Cain without a plan in mind.
"Mister Cain, do you still remember the question I asked last time?" Yune asked, his eyes full of determination.
"About the Majorana powers, using your powers in opposite ways?" Noah Cain replied casually.
"Yes!" Yune said a little loud out of excitement. "I have been practicing it, but there has literally been no progress. You said that you could also use your powers in opposite ways, can you please teach me?"
Noah Cain was quite taken aback by Yune's enthusiastic response, but he felt like he had to disappoint him once again. Taking a deep breath, Noah Cain replied.
"Yune, like I said last time, the first time I used my powers in the opposite way, it just suddenly clicked in my mind one day, so-" Noah Cain was about to refuse, but seeing the determination in Yune's eyes, Noah Cain felt like he just couldn't say no. "But… I will try to also make it click in your mind."
Hearing this, Yune became hopeful and even more eager. But when he saw Noah Cain walk up to the weapon rack and pick up a sword from it, Yune's feeling became conflicted even though he didn't know what was happening yet.
Walking up to Yune, Noah Cain assumed a fighting pose.
"What are you doing!" Yune said frantically, a cold shiver going down his back from the aura that Noah Cain is emitting.
"What am I doing? I am going to teach you." Noah Cain said, a cheeky smile now forming on his face. "By beating it into you!"
