Trying to find the way towards his room, Yune had come across several students, which without fail gossiped about him. Maybe they didn't know Yune could hear them, or maybe they just didn't care, by Yune heard each and everything they said.
"Ew, he looks filthy. He is probably from the slums."
"That must be a kid from the slums that they recruited. He probably has a weak mark."
"Why are they still bringing people from the slums here? I really don't like them."
Not letting these insignificant things bother him, Yune had managed to find the room with number 5029 on top of it after a little while and quickly entered the room.
Opening his room door, the sliver of hope he had formed solidified as realization started to set in.
'I really am out of the slums…'
What made him realize this, was the simple sight of his room having a bed and a shower. Something so simple for most, but for Yune this was more than a dream come true.
In this moment, a sliver of joy had managed to seep out of his emotionless expression and form a smile on his face for the first time, maybe ever. Instinctively doing what seemed right, Yune took off the filthy torn cloths and threw them in the trash before quickly stepping foot in the shower.
Turning on the faucet, water started to come out of the shower head. When the first drops of water touched Yune's head, an almost overstimulating satisfying expression ran through his whole body.
Looking down on the floor, Yune could see the water, which was crystal clear when it came out of the shower head, having turned almost black carrying all the filth that had accumulated on his body for the last fourteen years.
With a generous amount of soap and shampoo, Yune continued to stay in the shower and wash his body until the water remained perfectly clear as it washed away.
Stepping out of the shower after almost an hour of washing himself, Yune suddenly froze as he saw the reflection of himself in the mirror.
His long hair, which reached his waist, and was previously a brownish-grey color, had now become perfectly white and fuller in size. His skin, which was covered in filth was now revealed to be fair as it hadn't seen the sun in ages. Accompanying this look were his eyes, which had been, and still are, a vibrant ocean blue color.
Yune didn't stand still for long looking at himself as had no reference to tell if he was good looking or not, and even if he did know, he didn't care.
Having stepped out of the shower, Yune tried looking for the uniform Rosalie said was in the room. After a quick look around, he found a black buttoned up shirt and dark-grey trousers and put them on. After a little struggle, Yune managed to but them on. Even though they were the right length, they fitted baggy as Yune was more slender than the average person.
Now that Yune was ready with the things Rosalie instructed him to do, it was time to return to her to create a student identity card. Thinking that he took too long in the shower, Yune rushed back downstairs, not knowing that there were elevators, and arrived in front of the counter a little winded.
Once there, he saw Aldrich standing with the girl from the slums, which he only recognized by the holy light mark on her arm as the girl now looked completely different. The girl was wearing a similar outfit as Yune, and had long golden-blond hair, grey eyes and had a slim physique and fair skin just like him.
'They must have stopped somewhere on the way so that she could wash herself and get a change of clothes.' Yune thought.
Seeing as Rosalie was busy talking with Aldrich and the girl to make a student identity card, Yune decided to stand a good distance behind them and wait for them to finish.
After only a couple of minutes it looked like they were done. As Aldrich and the girl turned around, they looked Yune directly in the eyes and gave him a polite smile before walking past him.
Yune didn't show it on his face, but he was a little surprised.
'Why did Aldrich smile at me? Did they not recognize me or something?'
Frankly, Yune didn't really care and stepped towards the counter where Rosalie offered him a smile once again, now completely genuine.
"Good afternoon. How can I help you?"
Seeing as Rosalie also didn't recognize him, Yune now knew for sure Aldrich also didn't recognize him before.
"Uhm… it is me, Yune Mun. You told me to take a shower, put on a uniform and come back here again.
Just as Yune finished his sentence, he could hear Rosalie gasp and saw her eyes widen into a surprised expression. After catching herself being flustered for a good few second, she quickly responded to Yune.
"Oh, sorry for being rude. I didn't recognize you. You look good, Yune. Yes, as I said we will now continue to complete your student identification card. Your name was Yune Mun, 14 years old. The only other things I need from you are a photograph for on the card and a photograph of your mark, please follow me."
Yune followed Rosalie behind the counter and into a small white room where a single stool and camera were placed.
Instructing Yune to sit on the stool, Rosalie quickly took a headshot of him after which she asked him to show his mark. As Rosalie asked him, Yune casually started to unbutton his shirt to reveal the purple mark on his chest.
Rosalie couldn't help but become a little flustered again, even turning a little red. Luckily she had a camera in front of her face and quickly took a single picture before telling Yune she was done and that he could button up his shirt once again.
After that, it didn't take long before Rosalie had completed Yune's student identity card and handed it to him.
"Here you go. This identity card is again linked to room number 5029. Additionally, with this card you can go into the different facilities around campus. Classes officially start in two days' time, so until then you can go exploring around campus. In your room there is a brochure where all general information is provided, and if you have any more questions, you can always ask me."
