While looking around and enjoying the best food he had ever tasted, something had become apparent to Yune. It was only a feeling, but while looking around the cafeteria, Yune thought to have noticed that there was some kind of order to the seating arrangement.
It looked like the strong were sitting with the strong and the weak with the weak. Everyone wore the same outfit, so this thought was purely based on the appearance and vibe people were giving off.
At that moment, a male student who was giving off the vibe of someone strong had sat down at the empty table Yune was eating at.
"Why are you eating alone, handsome?" the male student asked bluntly.
"Just felt like it." Yune said, surprised that someone suddenly talked to him. Thinking that he was being mocked, being called handsome, Yune didn't even bother to look the male student in the yes.
"Well, I don't believe we have met yet. I am Kyle from the Carter family, nice to meet you." The students said with a sincere smile on his face.
Still not interested, Yune continued eating as he shortly introduced himself. "I am Yune Mun, Nice to meet you."
Hearing this short introduction, the male student became a little annoyed but stayed polite. "Hmm. The Mun family, never heard of it. Is it some rural family? Looking at your white hair, does your family have powers over ice?"
'What does my hair being white have to do with my family? And more so my powers?' Yune thought.
At this point, Yune started noticing what kind of person this Kyle Carter was and decided to outright ignore him.
Kyle Carter smirked and suddenly his entire demeanor changed. "You are slum dweller aren't you?" He purposely said out loud for the people around him to hear.
As this was the truth, Yune gave no reaction to this at all and just normally continued eating the little food he had left while Kyle kept talking down to Yune. With quite a commotion forming, the tables around them started to whisper about what was happening.
But at this point Yune had already blocked everything out mentally and didn't know what was going on at all.
Having finished his food, Yune got up and started to walk away. But was then stopped by Kyle, who had grabbed his wrist.
'Why does everyone feel entitled to grab my wrist?' Yune thought as had become tired of this situation. With his emotionless eyes, Yune looked at his wrist and then up to Kyle.
"Where do you think you are going?" Kyle said with an annoyed expression on his face. "I am not done talking to you yet."
Yune didn't respond, an underlying expression of contempt now forming on his face while he looked Kyle in his eyes.
Kyle also seemed to have caught this slight change in expression. "I don't think you know your place, rat!" Kyle shouted as he raised his hand to slap Yune.
At this point Yune quickly closed his eyes, anticipating getting slapped, but after a good second had passed, nothing happened. Opening his eyes, Yune looked up to see a tall male student had caught Kyle's swinging hand.
With a calm expression, the tall male student looked at Kyle. "Easy there buddy, classes haven't even started yet and you are already trying to bully someone?"
Even though the tall male didn't really stand out in appearance, being around six feet tall with black hair and brown eyes, Kyle seemed to recognize this person as his demeanor quickly changed. He scoffed before pulling his hand free and just walked away.
As the tall male student turned to face Yune, he saw that no one was there anymore. In the midst of that situation Yune had walked off to go back to the library, just not wanting to be bothered by the situation.
Already being halfway to the library, Yune stopped as he heard the voice of the student who just 'saved' him. "Hello, my name is Alvin Mujag, nice to meet you. Where are you going?" he asked.
Not wanting to waste any more time, Yune gave a simple and short reply in a monotone voice. "Library."
This subtle hint wasn't enough to deter Alvin as he asked Yune another question. "What are you going to the Library for?"
Yune's reply was as short and monotone as the first. "Learning."
Finally noticing that Yune didn't want to talk, the student asked the question he actually wanted to ask straight out. "You are from the slums right? Sorry, I happened to overhear your conversation a little."
Yune simply nodded, putting his guard up mentally after yet another person mentioning him being from the slums.
Seeing Yune get even more silent, the student realized what he said might have come over as something negative. "Oh, I don't mean that in a bad way. What I actually meant to verify was if you also had a natural marking." He quickly said, trying to resolve the misunderstanding.
Yune again didn't say anything, but a confused expression appeared on his face at the mention of a natural marking.
Taking the surprised expression as a sign of interest, the student started explaining. "You might not know, but there are natural marks that can be received randomly during the marking phenomenon, and there are replicated marks that almost every family gives their children. So, almost no one at school has a natural mark except people from the slums, and well, me."
At this point, Yune had become interested as this came as new information to him. "So, are you also from the slums?" Yune asked as the student said that he also had a natural mark.
"No, my family is kind of weird" The students said, his smile now widening as he got Yune to talk, before further explaining. "for some reason, everyone from our bloodline is guaranteed to get a natural mark."
Yune got more verbal as his curiosity grew and they finally arrived at the library where they decided to continue talking while studying together. With the help of Alvin, Yune managed to get more information than he would have been able to get if he were to study alone.
After that day, they had agreed to meet again. In these two short days of getting to know each other, they had become a little closer and Yune had managed to learn a lot about markings.
Sadly he hadn't managed to find out what type of mark he had, not even with the help of Alvin who had a pretty extensive knowledge about a lot of different types of marks, coming from the Mujag family.
With these two days having passed by quickly in the company of Alvin, having gained a general understanding of marks, it had finally become time for the first classes to begin.
