CAT
Now that I have my phone back, I am spoiled for choice. I don't know who to call first.
It should be Ivan. Although we broke up ages ago, he is the first person I thought to seek help from. By putting his name down in the letter I wrote to Rico, I put his life in danger. I should check on him.
But right before I dial his number, I remember how crazy his work hours usually are. He probably only fell asleep a few hours ago and is going to wake up at 3am. I shouldn't disturb his sleep.
I leave a message instead, since he has text notifications on silent.
[Hey, are you okay? Just wanted to let you know I'm not dead yet.]
I chuckle at the frown I know will be on his face when he reads that second part. He hates it when I joke about my safety. I hold my breath as the text goes from sent to delivered. I don't know how the De Santis made sure my phone wouldn't be traced to this mansion but at least I'm certain I can communicate now.
