Chapter 15 - Owl City

Isra, Salv, Silva, and Oro are dragging their feet as they are welcomed by the warmth of Owl City decorated by its bright lights hanging from the treehouse structures. Residents of Owl City can be seen climbing ladders of ginormous trees as they prepare for the last hours until daylight lurks its way into the atmosphere.

Isra: Welcome to Owl City gentlemen! Also known as the self contained city of Instivale.

Salv: (yawns) That's great and all but is there an inn for us to crash at?

Isra: 'Round here there's tons of 'em.

Silva: Come on, Salv. That's quitter talk! We just got here!

Salv: Yeah, well some of us need our beauty rest to function.

Silva: You can skip one night without rest! Look at how alive the city is right now. Don't ya feel the overwhelming energy of the folks here?

Salv: (sarcastically) Oh of course!

Silva: That's the spirit!

Isra: (grins) We are a productive bunch.

Salv: That was sarcasm, kid.

Silva: (slightly blushes) I knew that…

Isra: Anyways… Salv, there is an inn 'round the corner from here. I assume ya got gold?

Salv: Yeah I got enough to last a few nights.

Isra: Perfect. Why don't you go on ahead and catch up on some sleep while I show Silva and Oro the city more.

Oro slowly walks towards Salv away from Silva and Isra.

Silva: Hey! (attempts to pull Oro back to his side) Don't get soft on me now Oro.

Oro: (whimpers and doesn't budge)

Isra: (laughs) I guess the pooch is exhausted too.

Silva: Fine. I'll see you two losers back at the inn after I get this awesome Owl City tour!

Salv: (slightly gains a second wind) Sounds good to me!

Salv and Oro both jog towards the inn. Isra and Silva walk around the city. They head into a shop where Silva buys a wooden owl souvenir. They sightsee some more until they reach the end of the city streets and head back to the center of the city.

Isra: Say, Silva this might just work out that it's just you and I.

Silva: Why's that?

Isra: That gives us an excuse to show each other what we're made of!

Silva: Sure, but where are we gonna climb?

Isra points upwards at the biggest tree Silva has ever seen.

Silva: (gazes at the giant tree) Woahhhh, that looks fun to climb! That tree is huge!

Isra: Oh, it is! Funny enough, this isn't even the tallest tree in Howling Woods!

Silva: Damn, for real?!

Isra: Nope. It's still quite impressive though.

Silva: I'll say.

Isra: My folks live on one of the top branches of this tree so climbing this is second nature to me.

Silva: (shocked) Wow, Isra. You must be an insane climber!

Isra: I try to be. Once we reach the top, there's someone I want ya to meet. He's the best climber in this city. Enough chatting though. Let's get started!

Silva: Sounds good to me.

Silva and Isra bolt towards the tree (Isra holds back his superspeed powers). They begin to climb the roots of the tree and before long, they move on to the trunk.

Silva: This is pretty different from the foliage back home!

Isra: What part of Instivale are ya from Silva?

Silva: I'm a man of the north, same as you.

Isra: Huh, and you've never even visited Howling Woods?

Silva: No, not really. Kinda stayed in my own circle for most of my life, that's part of why I wanna cover every nook and cranny of this country!

Isra: Ah, I see. That makes alotta sense.

Silva: Are you training to reach the peak of the world soon too?

Isra: Yeah, but I've stayed mostly 'round this area for most of my life too so it couldn't help to discover what other regions of the country have to offer.

Before they knew it, Silva and Isra had reached the Isra household. Isra's parents are seen in the living room relaxing before they go to sleep.

Isra's father: Why, Roco. You didn't tell us there would be visitors.

Isra's mother: (glares at her husband) Where are your manners, Faren? Apologies honey. Roco's father can come off rigid but he means well. What's your name dear?

Silva: (enthusiastically) Nice to meet ya, Mr. and Mrs. Isra. My name's Silva Belmonte.

Faren: (eyes widened) Belmonte you say. I haven't heard that surname in years…
