Chapter 13 - The King Wrath

She stood silently in the corner of his study room, watching him as he pored over his books and documents. As the afternoon wore on, She could feel her legs shaking and the hunger pangs gnawing at her stomach. The room was quiet and still, save for the sound of the crown prince flipping through the pages of his book.

As she stood there, she noticed that the crown prince was completely absorbed in his reading, not paying any attention to her. Seizing the opportunity, she silently sank down onto the floor, giving herself a brief respite from her duties.

She closed her eyes for a moment, feeling the weariness of her body settling into her bones. Her muscles ached from the hours of standing and the lack of food, but she knew that she had to keep going, to continue carrying out her duties as best as she could.

Aunt Maggie couldn't concentrate on her work, after hearing the new Anna gave her, her mind pondered around "Had I known, I wouldn't have encouraged her to go and serve the nobles" she blamed herself.

The queen entered the king's chamber with a gentle smile on her face. She approached him and took his hand in hers, giving it a soft squeeze before speaking.

My love, I fear that the girl you seek may not exist, she said in a calm and reassuring voice.

The king's eyes widened in surprise and confusion. What do you mean? there are prophecy about her- I know she is out there somewhere! and I must find her and kill her"

The queen lowered herself onto a nearby cushion, gesturing for the king to join her. "My king, I understand you have the interest of the people in your heart, but if she truly exists she should have been found by now by one of those kingdoms if not by you, it best we focus on the growth of our kingdom other than searching for what not lost" her ignited a fury within the king.

His face darkened as he listened to her "Enough" he roared, You speak out of turn, Monalisa. Your words are false and your tone disrespectful.

MonaLisa recoiled at the venom in her husband's voice, her eyes widening in shock and panic. In all their years together, she had never seen him so furious.

Without another word, the king rose, and stalked toward the door, gesturing for his guards to follow.

"Take her to her chamber, he ordered, his voice cold and cutting. She can come back when she learns to hold her tongue.

MonaLisa watched in disbelief as she was escorted from his chamber, As the door closed behind her, King Mark slumped back into his chair, feeling both angry and frustrated. The search for the mysterious girl, had take a toll on him, he won't stop finding her, he was ready to give it all just to find her and kill her before any other kingdom could get a chance.

She slowly opens her eyes, feeling disoriented and a bit groggy as she tries to adjust to her surroundings. She looks around the room, taking in the familiar sights of the study where she had been so comfortable sleeping.

But something feels off as she realizes that the room is now empty , with no sign of her master.

As the realization hits her, she sits up quickly, rubbing her eyes vigorously and stretching out her limbs. She feels a sense of panic rising in her throat as she wonders what could have happened. Was she asleep for too long? Did her master leave without telling her? Her mind races with questions and doubts as she scrambles to gather her thoughts.

She stands up shakily, feeling a bit lightheaded from her nap, and walks to the door, cautiously poking her head outside to check for any sign of her master. But the hallway is empty and silent too, and she can't hear any sounds coming from other parts of the house. She starts to feel a sense of loneliness and isolation, wondering if she had missed something important while she was asleep.

She reached the window and peered outside, noticing the sky had turned dark and the stars began to twinkle above. "I slept for so long" she muttered to herself.

"This is my chance to eat" she thought. She hurried through the dark passageway.

She entered the royal kitchen with quiet steps, her hands clasped in front of her demurely.

Upon seeing her, Aunt Maggie let out a deep sigh of relief. Her tensed shoulders relaxed visibly "Thank goodness you're here," she said softly. "I'm so glad to see you."

Rhefa smiled "I am fine but I need food or else I might die" she said with her hands rubbing her stomach.

"Of course, you deserve to eat something nice" Aunt Maggie said. Without hesitating aunt Maggie made her way over to a large pot of beef stew simmering on the fire.

She ladled her a generous portion into a bowl and hand it over to her "There you go my girl, enjoy".

Her energy returned and her spirit lift "Thank you Auntie" she smiled. Before she could take a portion of the rich meaty broth, Butler Rob entered the kitchen "Rhefa, crown prince Eric summoned you, he is expecting you in his chamber this moment" he said with a hint of urgency in his tone.

Her hand trembled as she set down the bowl of soup on the kitchen table. With a quick and apologetic glance towards Aunt Maggie, she hastily dashed out of the kitchen.

The cold air hit her face as she stepped outside and hurried towards the main palace. Her heart was pounding in her chest, wondering what could be so urgent that the prince needed her right away.

As she arrived at the front door, she straightened her skirt and took a deep breath to calm herself before entering into the crown prince chamber.
