Chapter 14 - Dine with the crown prince

She cautiously stepped inside, as she curtsied before the prince, her eyes drifted to the magnificent spread of food that covered the table, leaving her in awe. She had never seen such an extravagant display of dishes before.

Eric sat regally on the small dining table, which was meant for only two people. A plethora of food items - roasted chicken, steaming vegetables, freshly baked bread, and an array of desserts - were placed in front of him.

Despite the grandeur of the setting, the prince looked calm and composed, used to such luxuries.

He sipped the warm blood from the golden cup not paying attention to her.

"Am I been summoned to watch you eat when I haven't even eat a thing" she thought to herself.

"I heard that " He said casually. Rhefa covered her mouth "Did I say that loud".

The crown prince began to grow tired of the constant chatter and revelry of his family's dining company. He decided to stay in his chamber tonight.

Come here," he said in a deep low voice, that could arouse any woman. She hesitated for a moment, then slowly walked up to him, her eyes downcast.

She stood nervously in front of the crown prince, who was sitting calm. Her stomach grumbled audibly as she looked up at him, trying to figure out why he had sent for her.

"Your Highness," she murmured, bowing low. "I'm sorry to disturb you. I'm just a humble maid, and I don't understand why you wanted to see me."

He regarded her with a mixture of curiosity and amusement, she was an interesting thing to keep company with.

"Join me for dinner, get a taste of what luxury looks like" he said sarcastically. He knew she had been busy following him around and not having a time to eat, he wasn't the considerably type yet he felt it his right to invite her to dinner.

When he finished speaking, the Rhefa let out a gasp of surprise. "Are you for real?" she asked, her voice shaking slightly.

He gave her a curious look before nodding slowly. "Yes, I am very real," he replied, a hint of amusement in his tone. "That not a request it is an order, you dare not disobey your crown prince" he added in a threatening tone.

She knew she had no choice, she sat slowly opposite him.

The prince gestured to her with a gracious nod, allowing her to partake in the sumptuous feast that lay before them. In a display of elegant dining, he picked up his silver cutlery and began to delicately savor every morsel that was presented to him.

He extended his hand towards the maid, indicating she should take the first bite. With a gentle nod of encouragement, he gave her permission to indulge in the warm meal before them.

His manners were graceful as he lifted the fork to his mouth and chewed slowly, savoring each flavor. She watched him expectantly, eagerly anticipating her turn.

When she took a bite, the taste exploded on her tongue. She couldn't help but keep munching on the food, savoring every delicious bite. Her senses came alive with the various flavors and scents of the dish, and she found herself enjoying it immensely.

As the royals gathered around the massive dining table, the golden candelabras flickered their warm light on the tablescape fit for a king. On the head of the table sat King Mark, his regal presence emanating power. The Queen, dressed in a gown of silver and sapphires, was seated to his right.

On the other side of the table, the Princesses were giggling quietly together, sharing stories of their day. As they waited for their meal to be served, they couldn't help but notice the tension between the King and the Queen. Their icy glances and lack of conversation was impossible to ignore.

Suddenly, the Queen turned to her daughter, Princess Rose, and asked her to go and fetch her brother in his chamber, who had not yet taken his place at the table. The young princess obliged, leaving the room to search for the missing prince.

Meanwhile, the concubines, who were seated at the far end of the table, couldn't help but gossip amongst themselves about the tension between the King and the Queen. They noticed how the once passionate couple seemed distant and cold towards each other. It was a stark contrast to the love-filled moments they had witnessed in the past.

The prince sat quietly at the table, his eyes fixed on the Rhefa who seated across from him. He watched as she hungrily devoured her meal, paying no attention to the fact that she was being observed. Her hunger was evident in the way she ate, with a certain urgency and a lack of delicacy.

As the prince watched her, he couldn't help but feel a twinge of sympathy for her. He realized that she must have been truly starving to be so focused on her food, to the exclusion of everything else.

As the princess entered the chamber of her brother, she was deep in thought contemplating her next move. She was so engrossed in her thoughts that she didn't even realize that she had failed to knock on the door. As she turned towards the room, she was shocked to see the maid she despised the most having a meal with her brother, the prince.

Her initial shock quickly turned into a rage, and without a second thought, she launched herself towards the maid. The maid was taken aback by the sudden attack and stumbled backward. Before she could even react, the princess had dragged her to the floor.

"You lowlife," she snapped at the maid as she held her tightly. "How dare you enter my brother's chamber and dine with him, you think he is going to lay with you?" Rhefa tried to protest, but the princess wasn't having any of it. She was so blinded by her anger that she failed to see the hurt and confusion in the her eyes.
