I’m all awake before my alarm went on. My body is full of adrenaline today thinking that I will be seeing Ryle again. I message Isaac to greet him with a good morning. It’s not bad right, we’re friends anyway.
Me: Good morning Isaac.
I prepared myself to go to the office. I took my shower and had breakfast before heading to my work.

At the Office.
“Good morning everyone”. I greeted my team.
“Bett, good morning”, Carol greeted me with my coffee in her hands and offered it to me.
“Thanks, Carol you are the best, can you walk with me to my office I need to tell you something”.
“Sure, what is it?
Inside my office, I settled down and Carol followed me.
“Carol, can you file my vacation for one week, starting tomorrow”. I instructed my assistant.
“You’re going on a vacation? Is there something wrong? My assistant question, she knows me well that I’m only going on vacation when I have an emergency outside of my work.
“No, not this time, it’s a personal reason”.
“Oh, okay. I will file it to HR then. Is that all you need?
“Yes, and if there’s anything urgent at work you can give me a call or email it to me”.
“No worries Bett, we can handle it, you just enjoy your vacation. It’s only a short vacation anyway”.
“Thank you, Carol.
After my conversation with Carol, my phone vibrates. I checked it and it was Isaac’s message.
Isaac: Good morning, did you have your breakfast?
Me: Yes, I took it at home before I left for the office.
Isaac: Okay, don’t tire yourself that much then.
Me: It depends, maybe my boss will assume that I’m slacking off with my work.
Isaac: Oh, is your boss that strict?
Me: Not at all, his face is just too serious. He didn’t even smile at work at all.
Isaac: Is my face that serious? So are you scared of it?
Me: No of course not. There’s nothing to be scared about. I will start my work now maybe my boss already thought that I’m not doing my work properly.
Isaac: Okay have a good day ahead then.

I started my work with a smile on my face. I’m also counting the hours to see Ryle again. Luckily I don’t have line-up meetings for today. Only reports and documents that I needed to finish. Around lunchtime, Carol called.
Carol: Bett, are you expecting someone today? Someone name Ryle Carter is looking for you in the lobby.
Me: Ryle Carter? Yes, yes, can you ask them to send him up here?
Carol: Okay.
After I hang up my phone I felt like a kid waiting for my favorite gift to be received and opened it. I couldn't hide my excitement, I come out of my office to wait and welcome Ryle.
When the door at our department opened I saw Ryle looking handsomely smiling at me, he open his arms waiting for my hug. I run to and hug him tightly.
“Munchkin”. he embraced me back.” I miss you”. and kiss my temple.
“Miss you too”. we forgot that we have an audience and we already seek the eyes of my team.
“Munchkin, I think your team has already seen enough. haha,” he whispered to me and we took apart from our hug.
I face my team and explained everything.
“Sorry guys, I just got carried away. This is my best friend he arrived from another country just to visit me. Go on with your work, and don’t mind us”. we walked inside my office.
“Let’s go to my office and talk there”. I asked Ryle to follow me.

“How’s your travel? I asked Ryle.
“It’s good, just that I’m famished now." he smiled at me sheepily.
“Yeah, I figured that out. You haven't changed a bit. Why on earth you don't want to eat on an airplane anyways."
“I don’t know either maybe it becomes my habit. Did you take your lunch already, if not can we go and have some? he asked me with his pleading eyes.
“You are lucky I didn’t have one. Let me just finish this one document and I’m ready to go. I will ask Carol if they need me this afternoon if not then I will go home with you."
“Okay, take your time I can still manage”

I call Carol and informed her that I will take an afternoon off.
Me: Carol, I finished all the documents you needed for my signature. Do you need anything else from me? If not, I will take an afternoon off.
Carol: Nothing Bett, you don’t have any scheduled this afternoon as well, so you are good to go.
Me: Okay, Oh and Carol, don’t forget to file my leave starting this afternoon. You can still contact me if you need me urgently."
Carol: I sent it already to HR earlier. I will just inform them that you are taking an off this afternoon. Rest assured Bett, we will handle it while you are away just enjoy your vacation.
Me: Okay. Thank you so much, Carol.
After I hang up the phone I cleared my things and I told Ryle that were good to go.

“Where do you want to eat? I asked Ryle while I’m driving.
“Is our favorite restaurant still open?
“Yeah, I and Tamara always eat there when she is visiting me”.
“Let’s eat there, I miss their food. Oh, and speaking of Tamara did she knows that I’m coming today?
“Yes I told her yesterday night, she will come today as well and will be staying with us.
“Really? Did you tell her to take a vacation too?
“Yeah, she will get mad and complain to me if I didn’t inform her in advance that I will take an off as well.
“Ha, ha, I can imagine Tamara’s face when she is mad, it’s hilarious I couldn't wait to see her again.
“Call her, inform her that you are already in town.
“That’s a good idea, I could tell she will be jealous that we will be having lunch together without her.
Ryle faced time Tamara while I'm focusing again on driving.
“Hey, cupcake”. Ryle greeted Tamara when she answered the call.
“Hey, are you in town already? Tamara asked
“Yup, I’m with munchkin now, we’re heading to our favorite restaurant to have lunch, too bad you are not here yet.” Ryle started to tease Tamara
“What, you're going out without me? Both of you are so mean." Tamara already sulking.
"Hey it's not my fault, Ryle didn't take his lunch on the airplane and he is complaining to me that he is hungry. You can blame Ryle for this." I defend myself
"Fine, Ryle is always mean to me anyways. He always bullied me". Tamara complained.
"You know it's not a true cupcake, if I'm not mistaken you and Munchkin are the ones who bullied me every time. I don't have anyone to protect me from both of you." They started to argue as usual. I'm always in the middle to stop them both.
"Okay, that's enough both of you. Ryle, we're here, T see you later. Bye, love you.
"See you later cupcake, Love you.
"Okay see you both later, Love you.
Ryle hung up the call and we headed inside the restaurant.
