Tap, tap, tap, tap!
The speed the Knight produced was so fast that Ethan found it hard to believe it was wearing a suit of armour.
The Angelo closed the distance in the blink of an eye, and leapt up into the air. Once flying, the thing stuck its knee out and aimed at Ethan's face.
It's fast!!'
However, Ethan was ready as well, his own movement speed pushed to the extreme. He bent his back almost 90 degrees and let the knight's attack brush past him.
Ethan then swiftly stood back up.
After it's tackle failed, the Angelo simply landed on the ground.
Kung!!
There was no time to admire that perfect landing, though.
Ethan rushed in and before Igrit could turn around all the way, he performed a diagonal kick towards its head.
Shockingly enough, the thing still could move its arm accurately even when its posture was unstable.
Slam!
Ethan's right leg was easily blocked by the Angelos left hand.
Ethan's eyes widened in shock.
While one of his legs was blocked, Angelo's other fist flew in at his face.
Swish!
Ethan raised both of his arms instinctively to guard himself, but the impact force still got transmitted to the rest of his body.
Boom!!
His guard broke and his entire body became airborne.
"Aghh!"
A groan escaped from his mouth.
".....!!"
Suddenly, the Angelo had appeared before his eyes. Even before he had the chance to do something about it, Angelo's left fist powerfully slammed into Ethan's left cheek.
Slam!!
He slammed into the floor and bounced up from the impact, before continuing to roll away. He only managed to force himself back up after a while.
BUZZ!!
The inside of his ears rang noisily.
However, the much bigger problem than that was coming closer to him. his blurry sight captured the demon knight as it walked towards him.
Step, step….
Ethan opened his eyes wider and got ready.
Eventually, The Angelo arrived right before him and a bloody dogfight erupted between the two. Meanwhile, Rose was dealing with the scythe wielding shadows.
"Shit! I have to finish fast." She said as she threw a fireball towards one shadow. She then glanced at the fight between Ethan and the Angelo.
The Angelo didn't even bother to dodge Ethan's punches. No, it simply took on the hits and counter-attacked right away.
Pow!
The Knight's head was forced slightly to the side. But, even before Ethan could correct his posture, a sharp and accurate counterpunch flew at him.
POW!
Ethan tottered about like a drunken man.
Pow!
This time, the knight took a step back.
POW!
After his stomach was punched in, Ethan's body bent forward 90 degrees.
"Keok!"
Blood escaped from his mouth.
"What kind of bullshit is this?!"
Each of the Angelo's punched hurt like hell as if he was being pounded on by a hammer. On the other hand, his attacks almost didn't inflict any damage to the Knight.
It was a miracle he was even holding up this long. However, his body could only take so much.
POW! POW! POW!
After receiving a few more blows, Ethan teetered about unsteadily, before falling to his knees. He tried to stand back up, but his body didn't listen.
He had reached his limit.
The Angelo stood before him, but it stopped attacking him. It just stared down at him for a while.
Then, while ignoring Ethan's question-filled gaze directed at it, the knight extended its hand out towards the sword discarded to the ground some distance away.
Then, the sword was automatically reeled in.
The Angelo grasped the sword in hand and pulled it's hand back for a thrust. Ethan looked around and saw Rose was still battling the Shadows.
"Damnit, Move! Move!" Nathan tried to move with all of his willpower but his efforts were in vein. His body wouldn't move no matter how he tried.
"DEATH BEFALLS THE TRAITOR'S SPAWN!" The Knight declared
Thrust!
Before Ethan could question what the knight said, It already thrust the sword, impaling Nathan's chest. As the deed have been done, knight withdrew its blade.
Ethan who was stabbed in the chest, fell down hard on the floor and his blood poured out, painting the floor red.
Was this the end?
Was he going to die without achieving anything in his life?
A pitiful death!
The world was turning dark for him and his breathing was slowing down, he could feel his heartbeat feeling. He wasn't able to make any friends his entire life and he won't see his dad again.
He was going to leave this world.
He managed to look at Rose from the corners of his eye. She was having trouble against the shadows and if that knight joins as well, it was obvious she was going to die.
Then he suddenly remembered what his father told him years ago when he began his sword training.
"Listen Ethan, the way of the sword wasn't based on the aspect of killing but to protect. To protect one's friend, to protect one's love, to protect one's family. Never forget that, your journey has just began."
"That is right, I need to live. I need to save Rose, I need to find my mother. So I can't die here" He could move his hands and legs and then he had Will.
All of a sudden, something strange started taking place.
A mysterious dark substance came from his body and started healing his wounds. The heavy wounds.. they were healing as if they were nothing. The hole on his chest started closing and his strength remained.
He slowly got up on his feet and a dark aura was unleashed from his body with full force.
The ground trembled and pieces of rubble began floating in the air.
The Angelo stopped in its track before turning turning back and immediately taking a battle stance.
"Oh, looks like it's taking me seriously now." Ethan said with a smile, feeling confident with his newfound strength that he couldn't fully control.
"Now's it's my turn."
There were around 30 metres between him and the b*stard.
Ethan concentrated and in an instant, the flow of time around him seemed to slow down to a crawl. Allowing him to perceive the sword swung by the demon knight which sent an arc of darkness flying towards him in a straight line.
He dodged the darkness slash flying right into his face and took a step forward.
Just one leap, and in that one moment, the distance between him and his target decreased in half by roughly around 15 metres.
The second dark slash brushed past the top of his head by a hair's width.
The demon knight had quickly changed his posture after sending out the first attack to follow up with his second. Ethan felt amazed at his opponent's quick reaction as he took another step forward.
The distance between them disappeared in the next instance Ethan clenched his fist tightly.
Shhhwiiiii-eeek!
His fist had broken past the level of a bullet and was more like a cannon shell now, as it crashed into the face of the demon knight.
Kwa-boom!!
The knight swiftly raised its sword to block the incoming gauntlet but in the end, it was powerfully shoved away with both of its feet briefly leaving the ground.
Kwa-jijijijik!!
The ends of the demon knight's boots broke the stone tiles on the floor and left behind two lengthy gouges as he got shoved back.
Without giving it time to rest, Ethan appeared in front of the demon knight. The knight reflexively moved its sword in the meantime. The aura oozing off the blade as reflected in Nathan's eyes emitted a chilling dark blue aura.
Ethan dodged the knight's blade slicing down diagonally and a powerful step forward.
Ethan managed to reduce the distance between him and his opponent to zero before swinging his fist one more time. This attack landed squarely on the demon knight's chest.
Kwa-boom!!!
The knight should've been flung away by the force, but it crashed into a building wall behind it instead, and the structure's surface cracked up grandly.
What a shocking destructive power that was.
However, what was even more shocking was the fact that an attack carrying such destructive power didn't end with just one hit. Soon after, Ethan's barrage of fists rained down on his target.
Kwa-jeeck!
The sturdy armour began breaking and falling off bit by bit under the barrage of furious attacks. The demon knight pushed its speed to the limit, but it was still not enough to defend against every single attack raining down on it.
And eventually...
Clang!!
The sword barely withstanding against Ethan's blunt attacks finally broke while issuing a thunderous noise.
That was the end
Ethan then loaded his fist with unknown dark energy for the final shot.
Wuuoong-!!
The surrounding air rippled like waves on the lake's surface and spread out visibly. And then….
KA-BOOM!!
The fist fired forward like a cannon shell left behind a large, empty hole where the demon knight's abdomen was. The knight collided with the building wall again and slowly slid down. And then, it stopped moving altogether.
Ethan had won.
He won against an enemy that almost claimed his life.
"How do you like tha..." Before he could finish, he fell down on the floor upon using his last energy. However, if he was still awake, he would have seen a white orb coming out from the demon Knight and entered his body.
