Chapter 32 - Urial's VR (?) Adventure VII

"Though I don't have a lot of patience like the rest," 'Beast_realm', or 'Realm' said to the interviewer "It's still best if those who watch us have even the slightest understanding of us."

The interviewer sighed with relief, scared that every single one of them would just skip this part "Then, fir-"

"But I don't believe this whole interview part is needed, so I'll explain it how I wish, and if you don't like that, then I won't play along with your charade."

Then the interviewer sighed again, but this time because of a different emotion "Just explain something, please."

Realm couldn't help but smile a bit, the plan had worked. Though most of them would naturally give almost no information due to either; Boredom or being anti-social.

Doc may have given a good amount of information, but perfect control of information was a nessecity.

So Realm privately contacted Doc to make sure he didn't spill the beans, and that this little 'Deal' could be made...

Just in case.

He wasn't certain in his assesment, more like weird mind-fart actually, would be correct. But any good skill lord player needs to make sure there are no loose ends, or un-forseen circumstances. Even if a bit of paranoia is needed.

At least most of them had it at a reasonable level now that they were using normal classes, but you can never kill habits easily, and they had played like this for a while.

"The nine kings, also known as 'The council' is made out of me, and the other 'Kings'," Realm made sure to put an emphisis on 'Kings', he needed to make sure they were remembered as such "Those being;

The king of mimicry and battle, Urial. He's basically the most skilled in the fundamentals, he's more of a jack-of-all trades, but also a master in a few fields, one or two could also be considered as his 'Grand-master' masteries. He's pretty nice, if he needs to. He's basically an authoritarian dictator, but made to seem as a messiah in the eyes of those he wishes to be seen by as such.

The king of innovation of artificy, Tech field. He's... Very slow going, and likes to prepare a lot, and I mean, a lot of artifacts. He's pretty much as good as Urial in his use of artifacts, he just has a lot more patience in the creation of them, and likes a good artifact array that can destroy the fabric of reality on a bad day.

The king of alchemy and thaumaturgy, Mad doctor. He's an alchemist that likes to dabble in demonic practices on the side, including, but not limited to; Creating chimeras, summoning demons, using sacrificial armament refinement methods, creating artificial life/creating homonculi, creating drugs for his own little empire of crime. And there are so many more that I just can't remember because he doesn't do them that often.

The king of martial arts and brawling, Wuxia world. There's not that much to say actually. He's a martial arts nerd, I think? Not to sure. He learned latin, so that's what he names his martial arts with, not sure why. He has little care for the wants or needs of others, would easily kill someone if they're annoying... Nothing else to really say here.

The king of the best defense, Juggernaut. He uses defense based skills along with some other skills, to do extensive damage, while not being supposed to do that. Doesn't like people argueing with him, if they're people he deems 'Inferior'.

The king of War and it's crimes, Tsun zu. Yes, he does partake in war crimes, yes, he does not care that it's morally wrong. He's pretty much just some guy that likes big armies and big massacres. Though he has read up on the FBI's advanced interrogation techniques, so expect to see them from time to time.

The king of shadows and assasination, Head hunter. He... He does crime, he's quiet, he makes assasin orginisations, he's an assasin of the highest order if he has the right skills and skill-trees. There's not too much about him, though... He's good at torture by words, all shall fear orator Head hunter.

The king of magic and sorcery, King arthur. He's very focused on magic, and a lot of it in fact. His ability to manipulate, and enhance spells on the dime lets him defeat higher rank beings in the beginning, since from F to D rank, there is not often defense against magical means.

The king of spirits and summoning, Element_al. He is pretty anti-social in reality, he does not enjoy communication with humans, and NPCs. Though he does not hate it, it's more of a neutral disposition. He's pretty scummy with his contracts to spirits and the like too.

And then me."

The interviewer was confused "Why are there ten of you? Aren't you the 'Nine kings'? Emphisis on 'Nine'."

This was a common question for Realm "Well, at first there were nine members, but then Urial, who was being called a 'King' while playing solo, joined us. But we were to lazy to change to the 'Ten kings' or some other variant of it, Wuxia world actually reccomended 'decem reges', but... I think you understand why we didn't go with that, and chose 'The council'.

So we use that instead of 'The nine kings' on a good few occasions.

And... 'The nine kings' is still really cool to say. That's why we still use it from time to time." After finally finishing his prepared script, Realm was pretty much done with this. He accepted two questions.

"What is your goal?"

"To Make the calamity a new buthole."

"What will you class be?"

"My base class will be tamer, though the advanced version is yet to be decided, which will depend on what creatures will be my pets."

Though the answers were half-baked at best, the slightest of explination already made the people behind the scenes happy. Compared to the other 'Kings', this was quality info-dumping. Now they needn't pay the editor to make an explanation about them.

"If you wish to leave now, you may open you menu and press 'Continue'." The Interviewer said.

Realm acquiesced to this suggestion, and left.

Realm, now Beyran, looked around quickly.

He was in a forest, nothing too unusual, though there was a pretty big, a little too healthy, tree "Oh no." Beyran was not dreading what was to come, but more annoyed.

"Beyran!" A voice came from the big tree, as a woman clothed with green garments, as if a dress, but without the human touch. Light-green hair, long enough to reach a bit behind the back, with it slightly more of a darker tint a the ends of the hair. With sticks with slight foliage as horns, for some reason.

A dryad.

The wet fantasy of some, a hinderence for experts of in this specific type of opening scenerio.

Known as the 'Man of monsters' opening, an inteligent monster, usually humanoid, took pity on some orphan. Then, when that orphan had his coming-of-age, the player takes hold.

The most annoying thing is that specific monster's language becomes the automatically translated language, now, whenever he wanted to talk to one of the three sentient races; The elven, the dwarven, and the human races, he had to talk in ' speak'.

A language from , of course, he knew every single one by heart. It was just going to be annoying.

"Yes?" Beyran asked.

"I am allowing you to finally explore the forest, you are a grown human male, and I cannot keep you here." The dryad said

Beyran made a facimile of a smile, just to mimic what the original would've done.

'These are the chances of a C+-rank, If I consider that this body has a very close relations with the dryad, that means it's a B-rank, maybe a B+-rank if it's 'Extra close'. But considering she made no moves, and doesn't seem to expect them, that is not the case.'

"Though, be careful of the Fire drake on the mountain."

'Fire drake, on the mountain, noted.' He guessed that would be his first 'Real' pet, or tamed beast. Second would be the dryad... Probably.

[Partial taming (Concealed)(1%) used...]

[Taming failed.]

The taming was attempted on the dryad on Beyran's command, he expected it to fail. Though, continiously using it whenever the cool-down wears-off, would eventually cause the taming process to succeed.

30 minutes, that was how long he would need to wait till his next use of .

Until then, he would just calmly enjoy the open air.

Then he would get a normal beginner tame.

-------

Finally! I've got a foundational sword skill ''! And I got it from a goblin, with this, it'll be possible to storm the encampment and kill the goblin chieftain.

=======

Slash;

To slash your bladed weapon of choice with great might.

=======

The discription was basic, had almost no explanation, but that's normal for skills of high-class or low-class. Stable discriptions are usually given inbetween foundational, and expertise-level skills.

Anyways, goblin slayer time!

I finally stopped caring about how far I was from the encampment, as I casually walked towards it after crushing the skill crystal, making it's remains glow. And putting it on my now non-empty list of skill crystals.

Walking with my sword stained by dark, dark red blood of them goblins. You have to repeat it if it's important, or to an extreme. This time, it's the latter.

Due to the extreme amount of goblin death recently, the goblins were very vigilant. And the spoted me the moment I got into their clearing.

One tried to shoot me.

['Goblin' used ]

But;

[Skill activated]

I just parried it.

Some other goblins, the dumb ones, got out of their safe little base, leaving it wide open.

Before the first goblin could attack, I just sliced his head off with .

I did it again,

And again,

[Skill; activated]

And again. Until the few dumb goblins had died, and I was able to calmly stroll into the encampment.

Another arrow was shot, but I just -ed it again.

I looked at the walls, and then made a goblin symbol of mockery. The great and powerful; 'Picking your nose'.

The goblins on the wall were enraged, and the dumber ones jumped down to kill me, of course, I killed them all before they could do anything.

Then I used the second evil technique of goblin arrogance; 'Yawning while looking somewhere else'.

The leftover goblins where enraged to the degree of shooting more arrows at me, over coming their fear.

Again, I -ed them all.

Then the final technique of evil; 'Dancing in a drunken, slovenly manner.'

Finally, they all succumbed to the evil powers invested in me, and jumped down, while using their skills.

So sadly, I had to side-step the first.

['Goblin' uses ]

I stepped to the side, then;

[Skill activated]

It died.

Then the next, then the next...

Goblins are weaklings, that's a fact of life.

Now that all the goblins were finally dead, except the chieftain.

I had killed a lot of goblins, mostly outside, since most of them were getting food for them all.

Just that big tent among the many abandoned ones, but first; Skill crystal lottery.

...

Nothing. Ugh, at least a 'Boss', or an 'Elite version of a monster' will give a skill crystal, guaranteed.

No lottery involved in that, except which skill you'll get.

It should be D-rank, so this'll be annoying, usually I wouldn't do this, but I'm on a time crunch.

I tried to kick open the tent's door/cloth, but it failed. Bringing great sadness to all who wanted to do something cool, which was me only.

On his little bone seat, the chieftain was resting peacefully. But then heard my steps and woke up, while I was messing with his door/cloth, he took his trashy iron sword and awaited my challenge.

When I finally entered, I was irratated that my cool entrance was halted, so, I wanted to kill the goblin infront of me, and get this over with.

['Chief goblin' uses ]

The chieftain went faster than it's body should allow, and used it's weapon more proficiently than it should've, but.

['Chief goblin' uses ]

It's protecting it's head, I can't kill it instantly now! The sword would automatically stop any attack to the head if possible, based on the skill level of . The skill level is obviously lvl 1, but I'm still level one with as my only offensive skill.

How would I do this?

What if i-?

[Skill; activated]

That's not what I want, I want it to flow into the next, not like normal.

[Skill; activated]

That's not what I want, you dumb skill!

[Skill;

Stop resisting, my head on the line right now!

[Skill; activated]

Well, not anymore. But it's almost certain, if you don't stand down!

[Skill; activated]

Break you goddamn thing, don't you see?!

I've never been able to break you like this before, I kinda don't want to stop now that it's finally in motion.

Just let the snowball roll down the entire mountain of frost.

[ERROR]

[Skill; activated]

The blade within my hand glided through the air, through the wrist of the goblin chieftain that was about to strike down without a skill.

Then it naturally flowed to the left, passing through the other arm's biceps.

And finally, it went it a semi-direct line, slashing right through the neck of the goblin.

Hmmm, now that I've broken the system, if even slightly.

Wait... Is this just a hidden function of skill creation? Is it just something added to this 'Trial' function, or is it being beta-tested by us?

[Please wait for 7-9 business days, while this is in the middle of being processed.]

Ah, this is nice~ Free skills, no need for some lottery.

Though, I'm a gambling addict, and I just can't stop.

So I took out the lottery ticket in the form of a goblin heart, and tore it in half, at it's most symmitric axis.

I took the skill crystal and the D-rank magic stone out, now let's see...

Suddenly, some dark figure's hand passed by my hand and stole the skill crystal.

How did I not notice!?

Well, I'm actually still level one, that's one factor. Another factor was that I don't have any artifacts to counter such things. Lastly, I was just consumed in the fact that I had gotten a bit of pain out of the system, and had gained a new, free skill.

But, what would I do with this thief, who seemed to not have a skill to speed up past me, he had sneaking skills, shown by his black visage in the middle of the day.

I ran after him, till he left the village, acting as if I could do nothing.

But then, I expertly kicked a larger stone right into the range of my hands, picked it up out of the air.

Then threw it, expertly, into one of the dark figure's weak spots, that I didn't see. But still knew, because it was a humanoid figure, and anyone playing a vr game of this level of quality should now every single weakspot of the humanoid form by heart.

What was that weak spot?

The ass, like, right in it.

"AH!" The black figure made a noise of great pain, as it stumbled a bit, after which it returned to running. The noise was quite young actually, not to a pedofphilic level, but like, a late teen.

And you know what?;

[Critical!]

Thank you for telling me that, I just feel an intense amount of satisfaction at the fact that I get that little sliver of information that my rock throw was just a little bit more painful.

Because, that kid, he stole from me, 'Urial'. So it's obvious what he was;

He was a masochist.
