Chapter 7 - A STRANGE BEING

Well, I wish I had woken up later but I had a kid to look after. That's how it's supposed to be when you're taking care of somebody else, you have responsibilities you have to fulfill. Even though I wasn't going to school in the morning I woke up early to prepare for the day and to prepare breakfast.

I made pancakes and then I went back upstairs to wake up Grey. He was fast asleep in his bed and since it was pretty early, something around 6 in the morning. He usually wakes up at 6:30, 30 minutes before I leave for school but since the day is our day in since I'm staying at home I would just wake him up anyway.

" Good morning, buddy. Wake up." I called to him

He turned and toss then he opened his eyes.

" Morning," he replied

" Come down for breakfast will you," I told him

" Okay. I'm coming," he replied

I went back downstairs to set things on the table. Five minutes later he came down then sat on the table. He squealed quickly swallowing he's pancakes. He loves pancakes very much.

" Not so fast mister, you still have your milk to drink," I told him as I gave him a glass of milk.

He quickly jugged on the milk.

" More! More!" he said excitedly

" I will give you more," I said as I went to the kitchen to give him more pancakes.

I just brought back the whole bowl of Pancakes. We are together then in the morning, we watch TV. Sometime later we decided to go for a walk since yesterday was raining, today must be brighter and what's nicer than walking on a bright morning after it rains?

I told Greg to go get his top and his rain boots as I went to get mine. We went out and I locked the door. We decided to go to the park. Reaching there, Grey quickly went to the swings. I followed him and started pushing him and then I sat on my own.

Later we decided to go get some coffee and snacks at the coffee shop nearby. We talked we laughed and it was all fun. Suddenly dark clouds blocked the sky and it seemed like it was going to storm.

" Let's get out of here," I told Grey

" Why?" he asked

" You see out there? You see what's in the sky?" I asked him

He looked out, " there is a storm coming!" he pointed out.

" Yes, and we don't want that storm to find us here. Okay." I told him.

I grabbed his hand, went to the counter to pay for the bill then walked out of the coffee shop. Lightning started striking and it frightened Grey so much that he held on tight to my side. Suddenly it started pouring heavily.

" Tiffany!" he called out to me.

" It's going to be alright," I told him as I carried him.

I started running faster going towards home. As I was running my gut tightened. The same feeling that you get when you're being watched by something dangerous or you're running away from something dangerous. I looked behind us to see if there was something following us. What I saw wasn't something that I expected. It was the same man from that day and yesterday. Isn't he tired of following us? I quicken my pace to reach home faster.

" Tiffany, I think something is following us," Grey complained

" Way to point it out, Grey. Don't worry I will get us to safety." I reassured him

" Tiff, I think he's getting closer!" he cried

I looked behind us and surely the man was enclosing us. I quickly pulled out my phone and pressed the quick dial on the police line.

" 911 what's your emergency?" the other line responded.

" He's following me. I am with my little brother. The man from yesterday's following me!" I replied to the operator

" We're sending the police right now. Where are you ma'am?" the operator asked

" I'm on the sidewalk and he just nearing me," I replied back

" The police is going to be there any second ma'am. Do not worry," she replied

Suddenly my phone went off. Luckily enough I reached home then I opened the door. I locked it behind me. I put Grey down then went to the kitchen to grab the knife for our protection. By now grey was crying.

" Sheesh, don't cry Grey or he will hear us. Let's go hide in the closet upstairs." I told Grey as I grabbed him leading us upstairs.

As I reached the corridor I heard the door being tried open. It wouldn't budge because I locked it. Suddenly I just

heard a bang and then the crash of the door. I am pretty sure he just knocked the door down. I quickly opened the door to the closet in the corridor and then inside with grey. I told Grey to keep quiet so the man would miss us. He nodded while whimpering.

The closest was so dark that the only light to come inside was through underneath the door. I heard footsteps, heavy footsteps walking up the sitting room then on the stairs then in the corridor. Would then hear the clatter of nails hitting the wall.

" Come out come out wherever you are. You can run but you cannot hide. I can even smell you." the creep said I held my breath as if holding my breath would make the man not hear us.

" Come out come out wherever you are. I can hear your heartbeats. It's beating faster.

Suddenly the closet darkened and I looked down to see what was the cause of the darkness. Two feet were on the closet door blocking the light from entering through. My heart was pounding harder than I ever thought. I tightened my hold on Grey as he whimpered.

Suddenly the door to the closet opened and there stood the full stature of the man with a creepy smile on his face. He suddenly snatched Grey from my arms. Grey cried to me while reaching out to me. A small cry of despair escaped my mouth. I couldn't believe what was happening and i didn't want him to take Grey.
