Donellan hadn't said anything, but I could tell he was relieved to see me talking again.
He stroked my head a couple times before telling me to go back to sleep again. He could see that I was still feeling a little drowsy.
Before closing my eyes however, I made eye contact with Nix. I could tell from the look in his eyes that Donellan knew what we had seen in the basement.
I couldn't help but sigh to myself internally. I didn't say anything after that and proceeded to close my eyes and fall asleep.
"Lord Grey—" Ms. Levinseon started to say, but Donellan cut her off.
"You haven't spoken formally to me before, so don't start now that we're in this unfortunate situation. Speak comfortably." He said coldly. She cleared her throat.
"Right. Mr. Grey, as I was saying before, getting young master Simuel back to normal isn't going to be easy, but it is doable now that we know the cause.
I'll take this opportunity to heal him of his mental block temporarily, but it'll only be for a couple of months at most. We need to find the culprit in order to heal him completely unfortunately.
This is largely why mental attacks are so labyrinthine. They are hard to notice, and even harder to get rid of."
It took Donellan a couple of minutes before he spoke up again.
In the meantime, both Nella and Nix stood next to Simuel on each side, ready to perform the healing when Ms. Levinseon gave the go-ahead.
"Do what you have to do. As long as my son isn't in any pain or danger, even if it's temporary, do it!"
And with that, Ms. Levinseon didn't waste a single second, and went to work. The sooner this was done, the better.
If they left Simuel the way he was now, he would be experiencing mental figure which would worsen his physical condition even more.
The two familiars put their hands on Igraine's shoulders, giving her some of their powers, while she made sure to heal not only his mental block temporarily, but also any other ailments Simuel might have had.
And unbeknownst to them, she also ended up healing his childhood trauma and any lingering PSTD he had in the past.
It's safe to say, he received a full mental makeover, something he would learn about later when he woke up.
The whole time Simuel was being healed, Donellan face grew darker and he was clenching his fist in order to prevent himself from going berserk right then and there. He had some idea of who the scarred man was, but he couldn't believe it.
"That crazy woman really went and did it this time" He thought to himself.
He quickly snapped out of his dark thoughts and cooled his head.
He knew that every time he thought about her his mood would sour and he'd get this uncontrollable urge to destroy everything in his path.
He relayed a message to his knights that weren't too far telepathically telling them to look into a group known as the Suspendisse in Supermacy also known as Syndicate of Supremacy and find out information on all the members.
He suspected that the man he was looking for was among them.
He then focused his attention back on his son.
His chest felt heavy every time he looked at the young boy's face. He knew that he hadn't been the best father, he also knew that he neglected his son when he was younger and he felt guilty for that reason.
He couldn't stand looking at him because he came from that vile woman's womb.
His resentment for that woman ended up going to the child as well, even though he was blameless.
It wasn't until he was two years old that he started paying attention to him. The way his big grey eyes looked at him the first time he had contact with him soften his heart. He realized that he was no different than his father, who also neglected him.
He made the resolution that he would care for the child that day.
But later on, he found out that his son was sick and had a weak body. Knowing the young boy's inevitable fate, he travelled far and wide in order to find a cure for his son. And his long travels resulted in him not seeing his son anymore, which put a strain on their relationship.
When he came back, Simuel was five years old and he found out that the woman had died unexpectedly. Knowing he was no longer forced to stay in that house, he took the child and moved elsewhere.
He wanted to live somewhere quiet, and less crowded. So he had a house built in the south. And he tried his very best not to be away for months at a time and to check in on his son.
But now, seeing the way his son was now, and how much pain and suffering he had to endure, Donellan realized that he hadn't changed at all.
That promise he made, hadn't been fulfilled. He had to do more, do better, and give this child a better life than he did.
Once the healing was done, Igraine looked at Donellan and told him that Simuel is going to need a lot of rest for the next couple of weeks. He is going to feel a little weak, but only for awhile.
He should get back on his feet soon enough.
"I have plans to go down south soon anyway, so I'll come over to check on him and heal him again if needed." She looked at the worry on Donellan's face and smiled.
"He's a good boy, very tough. I was honestly very surprised he was able to take all of this so well. It's a pity. He is so young and yet dealing with so much." She sighed.
"That's what it means to be a Grey." Donellan said simply.
He grabbed Simuel in his arms and before leaving, he turned around and faced the three people standing in the room.
"Thank you all, I am in your debt." He said and disappeared.
"He's not cute at all!" Igraine exclaimed while laughing.
"How could you ever think that man was cute?" Nix said in disbelief.
"What a shame though. He is such a handsome man, but has a horrid personality." Nix sighed to himself.
The two of them looked at him. ' And both thought, "you're one to talk."
"Do you think young master Simuel will be ok?" Nella asked sounding concerned.
Igraine looked at her and patted her on the head.
"He'll be fine. He is a strong boy and I am sure lord Grey will look into it."
"Right. This is too much drama for one day, I am beyond exhausted." Nix said while yawning.
As soon as he said that, he returned inside his master's subconscious but not before saying,
"I hope things work out for the little one though.
It would be a shame to lose such an adorable boy."
