Chapter 31 - Someone Who Emerged From the Pile of Dead Bodies

"Morning!" Qin Huaichen's eyes lit up as he warmly responded.

"Are you going out today?" Fu Xiaoya noticed Qin Huaichen's casual attire, a blue and white shirt paired with casual pants, simple yet stylish. Perhaps it was because he was so good-looking, with a great physique, that his simple outfit caught people's attention.

Qin Huaichen shook his head. "Your brother didn't want to disturb your sleep, so he called me this morning. The folks at Holy View Entertainment assigned you a manager. It's still early, and there's breakfast downstairs. If you don't mind, let's have it together?"

Fu Xiaoya nodded. She certainly wouldn't refuse the opportunity to have a meal with a handsome guy. Just the thought of eating with this handsome face in front of her made her feel like she could eat two extra bowls.

"I had a strange dream yesterday, and it seemed to be about the boy and girl in your picture," Fu Xiaoya said as she entered the elevator with Qin Huaichen, briefly recounting her dream from the previous night.

Qin Huaichen's grip on his phone tightened slightly. "Did it scare you?"

Fu Xiaoya shook her head. She had seen more terrifying things in reality than in her dreams. She was someone who had emerged from a pile of dead bodies.

Seeing Qin Huaichen's reaction, Fu Xiaoya became more convinced that the little boy in her dream was him. She also finally understood why she no longer rejected Qin Huaichen, because they had both lived in darkness.

"What kind of illness did you have back then?" Fu Xiaoya asked.

Qin Huaichen visibly relaxed. "Autism."

Fu Xiaoya was familiar with this particular disorder, characterized by neurological developmental issues and mental abnormalities. Those affected faced challenges in maintaining self-control and would exhibit violence and intense destructiveness during emotional disruptions. Interestingly, they would also resist engaging in communication with others.

No wonder Qin Huaichen had been confined to a cage back then.

"I won't harm you," Qin Huaichen hurriedly added when he noticed Fu Xiaoya's continued silence.

Seeing how nervous he was, Fu Xiaoya couldn't help but smile. "You seem perfectly normal now. Congratulations."

Qin Huaichen laughed along with her. Yes, he had already recovered.

"And what about you? Where have you been for the past seventeen years?" Qin Huaichen heard that the Fu family had found Fu Xiaoya at the hospital, where she had been admitted due to a car accident.

Fu Xiaoya didn't answer this question. She didn't want to involve more people in the complicated relationship between her and Shen Nanhai.

The elevator reached the first floor, and the restaurant was on the right. Qin Huaichen was sensitive enough to notice Fu Xiaoya's indifference towards this question, so he did not pursue the matter further. He had a rather pleasant breakfast.

However, the atmosphere at Holy View Entertainment was not so good. Lin Ying held onto Fu Xiaoya's information. She looked very tired, and her makeup could not cover the dark circles under her eyes.

"Brother Wang, what do you mean? Are you intending to chase me out?" Lin Ying slammed the documents on the table.

Wang Biduo was quite troubled, but he had no choice. This was the command from Third Master, and he could only follow it. Moreover, this girl named Fu Xiaoya had an extraordinary identity. Perhaps she would become their future mistress, but he kept that thought to himself and dared not speak it out loud.

"Lin Ying, don't get upset. Sending you to Holy View Entertainment doesn't mean they're giving up on you." Wang Biduo opened a news article for Lin Ying to read. "This is a normal job transfer decided by higher-ups, or rather, they recognize your abilities and that's why they're moving you there."

The news article Wang Biduo showed Lin Ying was a financial report about the acquisition of Holy View Entertainment. Among the publicly disclosed shareholders was Morning Light Capital, which happened to be the largest shareholder of Star Path Entertainment. In other words, Holy View Entertainment now belonged to Star Path Entertainment as one of its subsidiaries.

Lin Ying's expression improved somewhat.

Seizing the opportunity, Wang Biduo continued, "The girl you're going to manage is a talented individual. With proper nurturing, she could become a huge star. This is your chance, and who knows, if you succeed, even my position could be yours in the future."

Lin Ying gave him a disdainful look. "You've said enough good things. Are you so eager for me to manage Fu Xiaoya because of personal gain?"

"Nonsense! How can you say that? I'm not that kind of person!" Wang Biduo quickly denied, trying to deflect suspicion.

Seeing how quickly he denied it, Lin Ying became even more convinced that there was a connection between Wang Biduo and Fu Xiaoya. She sighed and took the documents to Holy View Entertainment. To her, this command was just a job transfer, and she had to comply. Moreover, Wang Biduo was her mentor, and she should fulfill her mentor's orders. Her earlier complaints were just venting.

Fu Xiaoya arrived early at the café near Holy View Entertainment. As a newcomer, having an assigned manager was already a pleasant surprise, so she couldn't keep her manager waiting.
