Chapter 19 - Allied with Fairies

Ethan and the group launched a fierce assault on the guardian creature, their weapons clashing with its impenetrable defenses. It was a grueling battle, unlike anything they had ever faced before. Ethan tapped into his unique skill, harnessing the dark energy from the void, but even his most potent attacks barely scratched the surface of the creature's formidable strength. Jane and Jessica provided long-range support, their arrows finding their mark with precision, while Jane also used her healing abilities to keep Ethan on his feet.

The battle raged on, each moment feeling like an eternity. The group endured wounds and exhaustion, pushing their limits in their relentless pursuit of victory. Finally, with one last coordinated strike, they managed to overpower the creature, its towering form crashing to the ground in defeat.

As the dust settled, the fairy they had spoken to earlier appeared, astonishment etched across its face.

Fairy: "I can't believe you guys actually defeated it! Are you truly human beings? Your power is unbelievable!"

Ethan, catching his breath, questioned the fairy, "And where is the exit from here?"

Fairy: "Be patient..."

Suddenly, a radiant light bathed the shrine, and another creature materialized before them. It bore a humanoid form with magnificent wings, its colossal presence reminiscent of the mythical angels of legend.

Ethan: "Who is this?"

Shiloh: "I am Shiloh, the leader of the wind element fairies."

Ethan: "Wind element fairies?"

Shiloh: "We fairies have been sealed away for thousands of years, cut off from this world."

Ethan: "So, you mean you used to exist in this world?"

Shiloh: "Yes, precisely. Together with those monster, we were inhabitants of this world millennia ago. We were all banished, and our existence became nothing more than tales told by humans. But now, we are returning."

Jessica: "You mean those monsters are making a comeback?"

Shiloh: "Indeed. They have reemerged into this world, and with them, the return of Yale Matthias."

Ethan: "Yale Matthias? Who is he?"

Shiloh: "He is our master, the former ruler of this world. Ethan, you possess a special power. I want you to join forces with us, the fairies, and unite the five elemental forces. Together, we can acquire the power of the fairies and unlock the door to darkness."

Ethan: "Why should I listen to you? We don't need a ruler for this world."

Shiloh: "Aligning yourself with us will grant you unimaginable magic and unrivaled power. It will be to your advantage. You will journey to the Abyss of Flame and meet with the fairy leader of the fire element."

Ethan: "Hey, I didn't say I want to ally with you."

Shiloh: "I sense the resonance of energy within you. Work with us, and you will wield powers no human has ever possessed."

Ethan pondered for a moment, weighing his options.

Ethan: "Alright, for now, I will work with you. I suppose I have nothing to lose. But remember, I still don't fully trust you fairy creatures yet."

Shiloh: "Come closer to me."

Ethan cautiously approached Shiloh, who cast a spell upon him.

Shiloh: "I have marked you. Now, you will have the ability to communicate with fairies across the world, gain their trust, and harness their powers. Please travel to the Abyss of Flame, free their leader and then you can gain their power.. Farewell"

With those words, Shiloh vanished from the shrine, leaving everything as it was before.

At that moment, Jane dropped to her knees, a look of pain crossing her face.

Jessica: "Jane, are you okay?"

Ethan, alarmed: "What's happening?"

Jane: "I don't know why, but since that fairy appeared, I've been feeling dizzy."

Ethan: "At a time like this? Should we return to the village for some rest?"

Jane: "It's okay. I'm feeling better now. Let's continue our escape from here."

The group agreed, deciding to leave the shrine behind once and for all, determined to uncover the truth behind the fairies, the monsters, and the impending return of Yale Matthias. Their journey was far from over, and the challenges that lay ahead would test their strength, resolve, and newfound powers.
