Chapter 3 - New Assignment

Ethan entered the lavish office of Jackson, CEO of Jackson Enterprise. The room exuded luxury, with tastefully arranged famous paintings, a grandiose table, and a plush sofa where Ethan casually reclined, a wisp of smoke spiraling from his cigarette. The ambiance was further enhanced by the display of fine wines, evoking an air of sophistication.

Jackson, sitting behind the imposing desk, began the conversation with a mixture of anger and relief. "How dare those stupid people like Victor try to play games with Jackson Enterprise! Thankfully, you were able to stop them and retrieve the package."

Ethan took a drag from his cigarette and exhaled a cloud of smoke. His expression remained nonchalant as he replied, "Well, I did my part of the job. Just make sure to transfer the payment to my account as usual."

Jackson nodded, his face serious. "Of course, no problem there. But I have another assignment for you, Ethan. And this time, the payment will be double."

A glimmer of interest flickered in Ethan's eyes as he leaned forward. "Double, you say? Seems like you've stumbled upon another 'difficult' enemy."

Jackson leaned back in his chair, his expression growing somber. "The target is Seifer, a business spy from Taira Trading Company."

Ethan's eyebrows arched in surprise. "Seifer? That won't be an easy deal. He's the top agent in Taira Trading, with quite a reputation in the spy industry. The price you're offering won't be enough to handle someone like him."

Jackson, growing impatient, interrupted, "Just give me your price then!"

Ethan, his curiosity piqued, grinned mischievously. "Oh, so you want me to name my price? I wonder what Seifer is after from Jackson Enterprise... Is it related to your Z-Gene DNA plug-in?"

Jackson's annoyance became evident as he snapped, "You ask too many questions! Just give me your price. I have a lot of work to do."

Ethan shrugged indifferently. "Alright, it's not my business anyway. Three hundred thousand."

Jackson's eyes widened in surprise. "Three hundred... you're really pushing it."

Undeterred, Ethan continued, "If you think it's too high, feel free to find another agent. But if the target is someone like Seifer, I don't think you'll find anyone in this city willing to take on the job."

Jackson, slightly irritated, retorted, "You're probably the only person who dares to negotiate such a price with Jackson Enterprise. Fine, let's go with your price. We've received news that Seifer will infiltrate our bio lab tonight. I want you to take him out when he arrives. If you fail, be prepared to end your own life."

Annoyance flashed in Ethan's eyes as he responded, "Wait for my news."

The tension in the room lingered as Ethan extinguished his cigarette, leaving a sense of anticipation for the impending clash with Seifer, the formidable agent of Taira Trading Company.
