It was at a bar in the corner of the city, where the light casual ambiance invited patrons to unwind and relax. Soft lighting cast a gentle glow over the few occupied tables, while a pool table stood in the corner, inviting friendly competition. A jukebox played a melodic tune in the background, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The bar boasted a couple of televisions, displaying sports highlights and news updates. Behind the counter stood Jessica, the owner of the establishment, with her medium-length, blond hair adding a touch of radiance to her appearance. Jessica was a modern woman who exuded confidence and a self-assured demeanor.
At one of the tables, two customers engaged in a discussion about the ZGene DNA plug-in, marveling at its capabilities to enhance one's physical attributes. One of them commented, "I heard this DNA plug-in operation is incredible. It can improve your strength and make your life easier. There are various types available, each offering unique enhancements." The other friend nodded in agreement, suggesting they enjoy their drinks for now and delve deeper into the topic later.
In the midst of their conversation, a figure entered the bar, catching the attention of the patrons. Clad in a vibrant red skirt and sporting green hair, the newcomer made her way towards the bar counter where Jessica stood. She appeared weary, her attire hinting at her journey from out of town.
With a warm smile, Jessica greeted the newcomer, "Welcome! How can I assist you?"
The woman, Jane, presented a photograph to Jessica and asked, "Have you seen this guy? His name is Ethan, around 28 years old."
Jessica inspected the photo briefly before shaking her head. "I'm sorry, he doesn't seem to be one of our regular customers. But are you alright? You seem a bit worn out. Can I get you something to warm you up?"
Jane sighed softly, "So he didn't come here... Well, a hot milk would be nice."
Jessica chuckled playfully, "Hot milk in a bar? That's a first! But since you're so cute, I'll make an exception. One hot milk coming right up!"
"Thank you," Jane replied with gratitude.
As Jessica prepared the warm beverage, the two women exchanged names and engaged in small talk. It became evident to Jessica that Jane was not from the local area, and Jane confirmed that she was indeed from Acadia village.
Their conversation was interrupted as the two customers from the nearby table approached the bar, eyeing Jane flirtatiously. One of them spoke with a mischievous grin, "Hey there, pretty girl. I think I saw the guy in the picture. Want me to help you find him?"
Jessica, familiar with the customers' behavior, intervened, "Pierre, I think you've had enough to drink. Shouldn't you be heading back to your wife by now?"
Pierre laughed heartily, acknowledging Jessica's words. "Hahaha, alright, bro. With Jessica around, we won't stand a chance with this lovely lady." Pierre and his friend bid their farewell and exited the bar.
Jane looked a bit puzzled by the situation, her brows furrowing slightly.
Jessica offered reassurance, "This city is different from your hometown. You need to be cautious. You never know what could happen to you."
Jane nodded, taking in Jessica's advice. "Alright..."
Sensing Jane's vulnerability, Jessica proposed a solution. "I believe you could be in a dangerous situation here. Why don't you stay at my place while you search for your lover? In return, you can lend me a hand with the work here at the bar."
Jane hesitated for a moment before clarifying, "No, we're not lovers. We're just good friends."
Jessica chuckled, understanding Jane's words. "Hahaha, alright, just good friends it is then."
