You resume talking about your research. You've no sooner finished than Wilcox interrupts again. "What about your class? I understand you taught summoning." He sounds like he doesn't think much of the subject, you teaching that subject, or both.
You look to Dr. Ellison, who nods for you to talk about your class. You walk through how you used traditional lectures. You give the committee a copy of your syllabus and point out examples of how you presented subjects from that syllabus.
"I'm sure you did the best you could. First time and all." Wilcox turns to address Dr. Ellison. "Do you really think he has the needed presence for class lectures?"
"Dr. . has a different style of lecturing than you do." Her dry tone suggests very strongly that she's glad about that.
"Regardless, in the end, teacher evaluations will be a better metric than our individual opinions. We'll get to those in a moment," which isn't ominous at all, "but for now, Dr. ., let's discuss your work on the symposium."
