You talk about how you, Darcy and Taylor secured the campus conference center for the symposium. You list the session chairs you recruited who will in turn recruit others to participate.
"That's all well and good, but I understand you cut Darcy out of working directly with Taylor." Wilcox harrumphs, which isn't something you thought actual people did. "It's a poor idea to leave a talented colleague out of the planning."
Did Darcy tell Wilcox that? It would be just like her to poison your tenure chances to get a leg up on you.
"I had nothing to do with Darcy stepping back from the symposium. Taylor and I would like Darcy's help, and we've told her so multiple times. I'm not sure why she isn't pitching in more than she is."
"A likely story."
"That's sufficient, Dr. Wilcox." Dr. Ellison stares at him. "You've made your points."
"I wanted to make sure Bomomsay Clestenrogo heard my thoughts."
"You've accomplished that goal. Kindly let it be."
Wilcox isn't satisfied with that, but he doesn't push the point.
