You're here before the incoming first-years arrive for orientation, so you have the quadrangle nearly to yourself. You walk across the neatly mown grass, taking in the brick buildings that line the outer edges of the field. A copse of oaks shades West Hall, on the east side of the quad. Your first-year orientation leader explained that it was named after a rich donor, not for the compass direction. You can almost hear her now.

The sun jumps in the sky. West Hall's façade appears to age, becoming the building you remember from your college days, before the college restored it. Denise, your orientation leader, appears in front of you. A crowd of your fellow incoming students surround you.
