Will's eyes narrow. For a moment, it's possible to see something more than the Head Boy's own intelligence within them. Crouched inside his skull, almost hidden from view, something else is watching you.
"I think you're trying to push us away, because you can't kill us like this," you say in the silence. "It's why you've got the students looking for us; it's why the headmaster's lost the plot. But if you could kill us like this, then you'd have done it now, because that would be the smartest move."
