Max and Sonia glance at each other. "Probably wise," the werewolf says eventually. "They'll not be too bad for a while, but then someone will say something, and before too long, Lady Rastan's got us all in a six-hour seminar about speciesism."
Sonia manages, barely, to suppress a shudder. "Yes, let's make sure they're behaving themselves," she agrees. "Otherwise it'll be…" She pauses, actually having to struggle through the word. "…trust falls."
Will and Grace look at Sonia and Max, bemused, but no one argues.
You head towards the fence that marks the barrier between your two schools: the same place that you first met Will and Romilly.
This time, you find Renault floating beside you, something that seems to prevent Grace from walking with you again.
"Interesting day," the ghost remarks.
You nod. "You could call it that."
"You've not done badly so far," Renault says fairly. "I suppose a vampire, a werewolf, a zombie, and a ghost are a good selection of backup."
"We're certainly well-equipped," you agree. "Still, seems like we might need more than variety to get through this?"
Renault glances at you. "You're thinking of adding to the team? We've left tryouts a little late. Besides," he adds, "I'm not sure how you could improve upon a werewolf and a vampire locked in a centuries-old species war, or a cyborg zombie going through an existential crisis."
