"You saw what the other three did to the headmaster, right?" Renault asks. "I think we're in a good position to take on anyone who thinks they're hard enough."
"Sure," you say. "Right up until we're not. I'd like to have a permanent advantage when it comes to kicking people's heads in."
You reach the fence that marks the boundary between the two schools: the line between old money and old practices. One by one, you climb over, making your way across the school field to the main school building.
"So are we going right to Old Cavalcade?" Michelle asks as you pass through the large double doors and into the main school building. "She's going to love this."
"We should probably get Grace examined first," Sonia says, gesturing idly to Grace. "We'll have all the facts then. Otherwise, we'll probably just get told to head straight to the lab."
Grace doesn't seem to hear the conversation: she's standing in the doorway, not moving, fear showing clearly on her face. Her expression, not to mention her body language, suddenly conveys the image of someone on the verge of fleeing.
Michelle glances at you, clearly having picked up on Grace's dread, which is so apparent that Max could probably take a bite out of it. She clearly needs a quiet word.
You walk back towards Grace, motioning for the others to carry on. Once you have some privacy, you lower your voice, looking closely at Grace. "Feeling okay?"
She gives a kind of half shrug. "Just…not used to the undead, I suppose. My parents…" She falls silent, looking cautiously at the assembled undead in question. "Well, they didn't think that the living and…the other sort should mix. They were furious when they found out that the two schools would be so close. They're a little…" Grace hesitates, then she makes a vague gesture, the meaning of which is entirely and unfortunately clear.
