Max nods. "Those were our feelings as well. Once this is over, we can get back to…" he glances at Sonia "…other matters."
"All right," you say, "we need to find out where the vision's coming from and why it's happening now. Max, where did you say it was coming from?"
Max points out of the library window, causing vampires and werewolves to follow his finger. "From over there," he says before pointing the opposite way. "Or from over there. Either of them."
"We could split up," Sonia suggests. "That way, we can over twice as much ground."
You nod. "Any idea what's in either direction?"
This time, it's Renault who answers. "Well, over in that way—" he points out of the window "—is a lot of fields and the odd farm dotted around. And in that direction—" he shoves his other hand through his body, the finger pointing behind him "—is a certain school for students of a certain social class."
Silence follows his words.
"St. Mary's," Val says eventually. "You think they're doing it somehow?"
"It's newly built," Michelle points out. "That means digging, excavation, surveying, foundations. Matron said that this could be caused by the barrier between our world and hell getting weakened. Maybe something got disturbed."
"All right," you say, "like Sonia says, we split up. Me, Michelle, Renault, Sonia, Max, and one or two more can go to St. Mary's. The rest of you, check the fields and the farms: make sure there's nothing the disturbance could be coming out of."
"You want us to mix teams?" Sonia asks, a clear edge audible in her voice.
You nod.
