Julia found the gown of her choice in a luxury boutique shop. Nicholas had given her a card saying that it was a company card and since she would be attending the event officially as his assistant, it was right for her to use the company card.
She had stopped him from getting her a gown as he normally did. She told him earlierbecause she knew he was going to just buy it and she already promised herself the last time that she was not going to be dependent.
The new solution he brought about was still him spending on her but she could use that to convince herself that she was not just getting used to being taken care of by him.
Bella and Chris had already left, quite awkwardly. The air had changed after their conversation while coming especially between Chris and Julia. Bella had been quiet since they came out of the cinema and honestly that might have added more to the awkward situation.
