"Edna, I'll ask again. Who hurt you!?" asked Maxieno in a higher tone.
Edna took a step back for fear of her master's anger.
"No one, Sir. I fell down the stairs and injured my right shoulder."
Maxieno squinted his eyes upon seeing Edna's face, which could not lie. The girl turned her head, not daring to look at him directly.
"Edna. You are my servant. My property. No one can hurt you. Didn't I say back then that as long as you become my loyal servant, I will protect you?"
The man growled in annoyance. Edna couldn't possibly fall. If Edna had fallen down the stairs or been injured in the castle, he would know right away. Even Edna's small steps from the kitchen to her room could be heard by him. There was no way Maxieno would miss the sound of the girl falling down the stairs.
Was... Edna injured while she was outside the castle? The girl did serve other dragons several times.
