Kane braced himself for a long showdown with the pursuing giants. They seemed determined to prevent other creatures from growing stronger in their territory, and Kane needed a plan to survive. Kane decided to avoid direct confrontation. Instead, he'd use his agility and knowledge of the terrain to set up ambushes. Striking from the shadows and then disappearing quickly would leave the giants bewildered. That works better at night, though.
To confuse the giants further, Kane considered creating distractions. He'd make noise or disturbances in one direction while he moved silently in another, making it hard for them to track him accurately. Kane also could engage the giants strategically. He'd strike swiftly and retreat before they could counterattack effectively. He knew their size and lack of agility could work to his advantage.
