Kane approached the areas with the crossbow in hand, and soon he checked the right and left path. As soon as he looked to the right, he saw a Fireball flying to his head. Kane lowered his stance and jumped back to the corridor… he didn't hear anything, but even though he checked both sides fast, he was caught off guard.
"Enemies already, huh?" Kane thought and he focused his senses.
Kane's mind briefly brushed against the idea that enhanced hearing might have been a valuable addition to his abilities, but he quickly quelled any frustration that threatened to rise. Complaining wouldn't change his circumstances. Instead, he shifted his attention toward the right path, honing his senses to perceive any sound that might pierce the silence.
