Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 - Blob

"You know kendo?" Hiroki asked as he pointed at Kisu's sword. "Yeah, I'm actually pretty skilled too. I always used to fight with a sword," Kisu replied. "How come you didn't have it before this mission?" Hiroki asked. "That's because it broke during a mission at the beginning of the year." Kisu said as the memories of the past began to fill his mind. "What happened, if you don't mind me asking?" Hiroki said. "I'd rather talk about it right now... Plus, we're going to be at the wherehouse anytime soon," Kisu said as he began to walk slightly faster. Hiroki nodded, and the duo walked for two minutes before reaching their destination. "So, this is the place?" Hiroki asked as he looked at Kisu. Kisu took out his phone and checked the location Haruto sent him. "Yeah, this is the place," he said as he walked towards the building. It was a large abandoned house; it was about three stories high. Kisu opened the door, and the duo walked inside the house. "Kaiji shōheki." Hiroki made hand signs and uttered a few words before a barrier covered the entire house and made it disappear. "Disclosure barrier? Didn't you know you could do that?" Kisu said. Hiroki smirked. "I got more tricks up my sleeve," he said. Kisu smiled, and they walked deeper into the house. Eventually, Kisu and Hiroki came across a door that was exerting a lot of soul energy. "You sense that?" Kisu asked. Hiroki nodded. "It's probably the spirit," he replied. Even though there was a lot of energy coming from the door, it wasn't anything special, far below the energy pools Kisu and Hiroki had. They nodded at each other before opening the door. Once they were inside, they saw a massive blob of flesh with eyes all over it. It was also rooted in the ground and had many massive spider legs coming out of it. The blob was 8 meters tall and 10 meters wide, and the legs were all different lengths and sizes. "What the hell?" Kisu said as he saw the monstrosity. "It stinks in here," he added. "It's probably gestating," Hiroki said. Kisu's eyes slightly widened. "You think so?" Hiroki nodded, "It explains why it's so massive and blob-like," he replied. "Well, if it is, we have to kill it before it has the chance to fully gestate," Kisu said as he unsheathed his katana. Gestating is something that can happen to all spirits but is most common in weak spirits. Gestating is when a spirit gains a mass amount of soul energy, more than their bodies can handle. So since they can't handle it, they put most of that energy into creating a new body. And this body is so much stronger than the previous one and can turn a weak spirit into a strong one. Kisu and Hiroki rushed at the massive spirit. As the duo rushed at the spirit, one of its eyes saw them and launched one of its spider legs at Kisu. Kisu lifted his katana and blocked the sharp spider leg. Kisu slid across the ground as it hit his sword. Kisu jumped out of the way, and the spider leg hit the ground, creating a small crater. Then the spirits threw their other legs at Kisu. Kisu dodged the attack after the attack, creating small cracks in the ground. Just as Kisu dodged one of the attacks, another one flew at him, but he couldn't dodge the attack. Just as the attack was about to hit Kisu, something cut off the spirit's legs. Hiroki sliced the spirit's arm with a sword made out of blue energy and said, "You gotta be careful, Kisu!" Hiroki shouted as the sword in his hand disappeared. The spirit's leg grew back, and it flung itself at Kisu and Hiroki. They both jumped out of the way and dodged the attack easily. Kisu rushed towards the blob of flesh dodging the spider legs. As one of the legs hit the ground, Kisu jumped on it, ran up the leg, and stabbed one of the spirits eyes. As Kisu pierced its eye, he saw something at the top of the spirits 'head'. In that moment, the spirit's legs flew towards Kisu at high speeds. Kisu couldn't even react, and BOOM! Kisu opened his eyes, and he wasn't standing on the spirit's leg anymore; he was next to Hiroki now. He looked at Hiroki with a confused face and asked, "Did you do that?" Kisu asked. Hiroki smiled and said, "Yeah, it's part of my technique. Anything that my soul energy touches, I'm able to manipulate, like switching its place with something else." Kisu nodded. "Can you teleport me to the top of the spirit?" Hiroki shook his head and said, "My energy can't get there because of the spirits energy around it. My soul energy can't mix with someone else's energy," he explained. Kisu nodded and smirked. "Then pin it's legs for me; I have a plan," he said. Hiroki nodded and created a few sharp poles out of his energy. "Mission accepted!" Kisu and towards the left wall, and he threw his katana into it and jumped on it. Then the spirit's leg flew at Kisu, but Hiroki flung his poles into Kisu's arm, pinning it against the wall. "Neutral Technique: Harpoon!" Kisu created a few harpoons and stuck them in the wall, creating a makeshift staircase. Kisu climbed up them and reached the highest point of the room, where his head almost touched the ceiling. "Just like I expected," Kisu thought as he saw what was on top of the spirit's head—it was a mouth. Kisu smirked as he jumped off the harpoon and towards the spirit's mouth. Kisu covered his hands in soul energy as he fell towards the spirit's mouth. "KISU!" Hiroki shouted as the spirit's mouth opened and Kisu dropped inside. Hiroki stood still in utter shock, but after a few seconds, the 'font' of the spirits body began to expand until, BOOM. Kisu's fist ripped and threw the spirits flesh as he punched it from the inside. The force of the punch was so strong that it blew half of the spirit's flesh away. Hiroki stared in amazement as Kisu tore the spirit apart until all that was left was Kisu covered in purple blood and his fist covered in negative energy.
