Chapter 11 - Arthur

Azure Monarch's silence confirmed Ryuda's suspicions.

"How strong are the Black Dragons of Avalon? Arthur will only call for School's help if the enemies he's dealing with have an X rank within their ranks." Ryuda took a deep breath before he asked again.

"According to my Azure Squadron's report, the Black Dragons of Avalon are mostly combat type S ranks and SS ranks. Due to expansion of their organization, they have managed to recruit 2 SS ranked Wizard Kings and an SSS ranked Wizard Emperor. This in turn made up for the Black Dragon's weakness for being weak in magic."

"Moving on, according to the report, my squadron has managed to enter the ranks between the SS ranks and found out that the Black Dragon of Avalon had a trump card. Have you ever heard of the XXX clan, Master?"

"XXX clan? As in the three man clan that claimed to be all X ranks? That bullshit clan?"

"Yes…That XXX clan..." Azure Monarch smiled wryly at Ryuda's words. Only an X rank could talk shit about another X rank after all.

"So what does that useless trio have to do with the Black Dragons of Avalon?" Ryuda knitted his brows and inquired.

"Well, according to the report, the XXX clan have decided to work together with the Black Dragons of Avalon to help summon the demonic side of Merlin."

"And that's why I call them useless. Shameless and corrupted to no end despite being X ranks themselves. Tch, I understand now. I'll take my leave now."

"Eh? Don't you wanna dig deeper into this matter? There's no way three X ranks will have interest in a cult unless there's a reward. The XXX clan are–"

"Idiots. And they're going to die for it. There's not much to say if those X ranks were really swayed with treasures and promises. Haiz, I can't believe I'm saying this but, I, Ryuda the Wisdom Dragon , X rank of School, declare war on the Black Dragons of Avalon and the XXX clan!" [Ryuda]

"I– Your wish is my command, Master." Azure Monarch simply shook his head in dismay at the thought of the upcoming war between his guild and a demonic cult from Avalon.

And just like that, the call ended.

Back to the present…

Hephestus wiped the grime off his hands before he extended them to shake Ryuda's hand.

"Thanks for the call, Ryuda. It's been a while since we last talked."

To which Ryuda smiled back. "Don't mention it, pal. I'll call you again after the war in Avalon."

"Sure, sure. Treat me to your guild's best wine when you're done." Hephestus waved goodbye to Ryuda before he walked back into his workshop.

With the newly made item in one hand, Ryuda teleported himself to his dorm room located in Asclepius Academy.

He hurriedly left a letter in his colleague's room before he stuffed his newly made item into his coat pocket and left for Avalon via flight.

3 hours later…

Ryuda landed in one of the outposts owned by Camelot within the Avalon continent.

He looked around for a bit before walking towards Camelot's border gate in a casual manner.

The knights guarding the gate paid him no mind, allowing Ryuda to enter Camelot without asking a single question.

Of course, how could they allow a stranger to freely enter their kingdom? That's because Ryuda was wearing a badge King Arthur gave him that represents the royal family of Camelot.

Only the Knights of the Round Table like Lancelot and Mordred would dare speak up.

Following that, Ryuda gave the knights stationed at the border a nod before he casted flight magic on himself and flew towards Camelot.

On the way there, Ryuda thought to himself. 'Who in their right mind would claim a large piece of land and only have one castle built in the middle of it?! There are no towns or villages that lead up to the capital! Camelot is a barren wasteland, why did Arthur even need to expand his borders when the land his people live in is tiny?!'

Camelot, in reality, was a small kingdom built on a mountain range.

Governed by 24 knights and an SSS ranked Holy Swordmaster, Camelot was well protected and respected by the other countries in Avalon.

It was only a decade after the rise of Camelot that King Arthur said he wanted to expand Camelot's borders to build farms and fishing villages to increase the food production of his kingdom.

War between the countries and Camelot ensued.

Alas, even after Arthur and his holy knights won the wars, he never did anything to the land he obtained.

King Arthur continued to build farms on the edges of the mountain range while he stationed fishermen to fish in the rivers that run through the kingdom.

At the thought of this, Ryuda really wanted to use Excalibur to smack King Arthur in the head.

Ryuda soon arrived at the castle entrance of Camelot.

Upon landing, he was greeted by a blonde haired man in his mid thirties and another blue haired man in his late forties.

The blonde haired man wore shining mithril armor and wielded a holy sword while the blue haired man simply wore martial artist robes.

When the two of them saw Ryuda, the blue haired man immediately knelt down to pay his respects while the blonde haired man simply cupped his fists.

"It's good to see you, Master." The Azure Monarch cried out loud.

"I thank you, Lord Ryuda, who is generous enough to answer my call." Arthur smiled warmly.
