Church; Saint Stella Academy
"Do you know? As we speak, your dearest friends, your lover, teachers, and all that are important to you are being attack simultaneously. I admit, your strength. I personally experience it after all. You are strong enough to fight back even without magic,"
This Malcov guy started removing his bloodstained robe. He even removed the hood that was covering the upper half of his face. What appeared was a rough face. Judging from his appearances, he looked like he was in his late 30's. He was unusually thin for a man and the black suit that he was wearing was defining the bony body that he had. He gives me a necromancer vibe, to be honest. He threw his robe to the side.
"But… you being here means that your friends are all unprotected. KAKAKA! Can you imagine? Maybe they're already dead? Saffir's ability is really nasty, you know. But you don't have to worry, for you will be joining them shortly."
I don't get this guy. Did he hit his head or something? And there is one thing that he said that I cannot overlook!
"One thing, I DON'T HAVE A LOVER!"
I denied strongly--with tears filling my eyes a little which made the one called Krueger and this Malcov looked at me with pity for a second.
"Oh, okay… sorry about that."
No, I'd actually feel bad if you say sorry to me now… damn it.
"And also. You underestimated my friends too much."
There's no way those guys would easily go down.
However, as I said this, Malcov's face was filled with a hell of a smirk and from then stepped forward.
"KAHAHA! Is that so? Then, let us begin the round two! Rise! {Tyrant's Rule!}"
As he said that, what appeared to be a transparent figure emerges behind his back. It was floating in the mid air with size of roughly 3 meters. It had no feet, and its face looks like an ape—close if not. It looked like a genie that was made of glass, actually. So, this is his ability, eh?
"Hou? Judging from your reaction, it means that you can see it too, right? My ability, that is."
Am I supposed to be not seeing it? It looked pretty obvious to me, though?
"So? What does that invisible genie do?"
I asked. I'm actually and genuinely curious, but it seemed like he took my question in a bad way. With his rough looks turned rougher, he glared at me.
"You're dead!"
He took my comment to heart. Is he angry that I called his ability a Genie?
The monster? Genie? A golem? Okay, let's call it a Susanoo then. Just for formality. The Susanoo started getting wild and roared loudly which echoed and reverberated inside the whole church. Then it raised its hand at waist level, palm open, facing upward. The palm of each hands glowed and from then, shards of glasses was created. Counting from my position, five shards each palm, if I got it correct.
"Get him, Gargoyle! Fire!"
The monster did as he ordered and fired all the shards at me. It was fast and looks sharp, but if you can see it, then you can dodge it. Ah, so it's called gargoyle? Not Susanoo?
The shards were homing and it was going after me. I was running around the church doing some incredible maneuvering just to avoid being hit. But running around won't help. So as to throw a counter attack, my course of direction was not running away, but closer to Malcov. I was being chased by five shards from behind, the other two already hit hard on one of the pillars so it means, it was out of commission. However, the three other shards are missing. I need to know where those three are before closing my distance to Malcov. I run towards another pillar and three of the shards hit and got stuck there—its sheer force destroyed almost half of the one-meter diameter post. A fearful force, I tell you. If I got hit by these, I doubt I would come out unscratched. Now only five shards left. If it's only five, I can dodge it no problem. The issue is the other three are missing.
No choice, then. I ran towards Malcov with the other two shards still tailing me. I can't risk being hit by it, so when I saw another pillar on the way to the guy, I ran directly towards it and kicked it up as if walking upwards—and did a 360 flip to do a hero landing; or so I heard it was called. The shards struck there and dug almost half of the pillar's depth. Scary!
Now then, what would this guy do? I don't have anything tailing me now, so I stomped the ground and once again started running towards Malcov. However, when I was about to reach his range of vulnerability, I felt a sharp presence from above. I forced my feet to take the friction of the ground and did a quick backflip to back away. As I do so, three shards from above mercilessly pierced the ground from where I was earlier.
"Hah! Brilliant! You are the first person to dodge all my shards without any scratch."
He applauded, as if truly amazed. But I will not let this chance go.
I kicked the pillar that was behind me and propelled my self faster directly to Malcov! I reached my hitting range and so I threw a right punch straight to his face—but then…
BAAM!
"Oh? That won't work!"
He smirked. What I hit was an invisible wall—or rather the palm of the Gargoyle that was floating on his back. I see. So, it doesn't just attack, eh? It also acts as his body guard. I backed away hurriedly.
"What a pain in the ass. I'd be really happy if you let yourself hit, you know?"
"Oh? That won't happen. Nothing can destroy my Gargoyle's body."
I see. Hmm… what should I do? Fighting barehandedly seems to not work. I don't have a sword with me too. Also, I doubt that just swinging any sword would deal any damage to it. Really, what a pain in the ass.
"This is my ability {Tyrant's Rule: Guardian Gargoyle.}—my gargoyle is as hard as a diamond."
Diamond? You've got to be kidding me.
"Now, then. Shall we start the round three?"
Alright, then… how shall we deal with this?
