Chapter 19 - There is a price for everything

Hours passed in a flash, and finally Lu Shang woke up.

He checked his body and found out that his body was filled with energy and the pain circulating in his body had vanished into the unknown which got him surprised. Even his broken bones had reconnected themselves in their positions and this time his bones had become stronger than they used to be.

Everything was back to normal except his cultivation, which had undergone a huge change that brought a huge smile to his face at the mere thought of fulfilling his first wish. "The road of cultivation is hard to pass through but with assurance of me stepping into the part of cultivation, my first wish is done. After this I will properly make sure I step fully into being a cultivator" He anticipated silently thinking of his next appointment.

He had become a cultivator but he still hadn't stepped fully into it. He has to consolidate his martial core first before, then he will become a real cultivator that will trample upon those that disperse him.

It was already the middle of the night, the vicinity was silent only the footsteps of the guards patrolling around could be heard.

Lu Shang once again closed his eyes and started breathing to calm the state of his mind. It did not take long before spiritual energies were visible in the air around him. With a single thought, the spiritual energies started to be absorbed into his body.

Martial art cultivators from a young age, would practice breathing techniques, to train the spiritual energy in their bodies, to increase their vitality, also to strengthen using the spiritual energy to temper their body to make it more suitable and stronger for cultivation later on to make sure it not difficult to cultivate in the future.

A golden speck of light surrounded him as he forgot everything and entered that state of deep meditation, envisioning himself as a vessel.

Lu Shang would occasionally spit out mouthfuls of fresh blood due to the excess spiritual energy that was entering his body in a fast motion.

"There is a price to be paid if one wants to get stronger and more powerful; I am ready to pay that price of pain as long as I get stronger," Lu Shang muttered to himself, knowing that he needed to bear the fiery waves of stabbing pains in his mind as he continued upwards. Lu Shang knew that, as long as he was willing, he could immediately become an unprecedented genius of the Lu clan and become one of the strongest in the city.

Despite the pain, he still gritted his teeth and persisted.

Due to the speed of time, the night passed by and in the brink of an eye, morning arrived.

He continued to cultivate for hours without keeping track of time. Su Qing and Su Yan came knocking at the door of Lu Shang but there was no response which left them with no choice but to leave.

'Maybe he is still sleeping' they thought.

He cultivated for more hours without losing concentration. Unknown to him, that soon it was already afternoon.

25 minutes passed, and suddenly an aura belonging to the 1st stage of the Consolidation realm erupted out of his body, with his aim fulfilled he opened his eyes and a speck of light flashed in his eyes for only a few seconds.

"Finally, I fulfilled what I'm aiming for" Lu Shang inclined his head, as his eyes flickered with excitement to the extreme.

He retreated the aura back into his body in fear that others would be able to sense it.

He stood up and then quickly took his bath, threw his clothes that were stained with blood under the bed.

He checked through his enormous dresses, he went through the dresses not knowing the one to choose before casually choosing a dress after endless and fruitless thinking.

He checked himself in the mirror presented in his room, he was happy with what he saw. "Excellent. Woah, there are a few changes to my figure after turning into a cultivator. I have become more handsome than before" his eyes flickered with sharp light as he commented to himself.

After making sure that everything about him was good. He left his room.

He walked down the long passage not minding the glance of anyone; the maids and guards being passed through were surprised to see him. 'So the rumor was true' was what was running through the mind of the people he passed on his way.

But seeing him alive didn't make the maids and guards see him in a new light, there was still that despised and disrespectful look on their faces toward him. To them, he was a non-cultivator, so even upon his awakening there wasn't a single hope for him.

Lu Shang smiled to himself as if he could read the mind of the people who passed him. 'Keep having that despised look on your face, one day you all will bow your heads and call unto my name with respect' he didn't bother much about the behavior of the guards and maids.

He should get to his destination, he knocks on the door and the lovely voice of his mother rang out from the other side.

"Lu Shang, come in" His mother called out as if she was expecting him to arrive at that moment at her room.

Without thinking twice about it, he pushed open the door before entering himself, locking the door behind him.

"Hey, Mom. You are slowly regaining your youthful beauty, this is what I am expecting not becoming a shadow of yourself" Lu Shang immediately said as he laid his eyes on his mother who was laying weakly on her bed.

"What do you expect from me? If you didn't make me worry for over a year I wouldn't have any problem with myself" She replied with a smile on her face. "Why are you suddenly visiting me? I went to your room several times but I couldn't help but silently left you to continue enjoying your sleep"

"I was so immersed in my sleep that I was too lazy to stand up," he explained to his mother.

Lu Shang stayed with his mom and had conversations with her before excusing himself from her room.

Lu Shang arrived at the library, but this time his purpose for coming here was different from the first time he came here; this time he was looking for martial arts skills to learn and practice. Though places for keeping martial arts skills were different, there were few kept in the library.
