Chapter 22 - Accomplishing what others will find difficult to accomplish

However, it appeared that the critical period had passed and he had recovered to his normal state; the flow of energy was returning to his body after absorbing a large amount of the powerful energy.

This wasn't something he was expecting, especially the part of strange energy emitting out of his body or drawing his consciousness to a strange state.

Although he couldn't remember, he thought he might have met with a catastrophic accident, which resulted in his consciousness being affected. His posture changed after absorbing too much energy, and his speed increased slightly when he was absorbing the wind energy into his body.

After all, even ordinary cultivators cannot sustain themselves for so long during such a great internal power increase without a catastrophic event occurring, meaning that Lu Shang must have been lucky to pass through that incident without any injury or life-threatening problem.

This kind of occurrence did happen in actual practice, especially in competitions. A novice might unconsciously push himself to absorb too much of the fierce energy while competing against another fighter. At such times, he would get into some sort of fight with the opponent, and his control over his body would weaken, leading to either a disastrous end or a very costly result that could only be salvaged by quickly going to see a senior cultivator and requesting his help. This would then help to remind the novice how to better manage his cultivation.

In contrast, if such an incident were to happen during training or before a competition, it would mean that the beginner would suffer a serious setback, leading to a loss in his strength. To help them handle such situations better, many top-ranking experts made sure their trainees participated in tournaments in order to fully understand the danger involved in competitions. These scenarios, even though not completely accurate, often helped to create awareness among many young fighters who wouldn't take advantage of their opponent's mistakes. However, they still needed to pay close attention to their opponents.

There wasn't much Lu Shang could do about the way he absorbed energy earlier, but now that he understood how the process worked, he felt a little relieved. As for the current situation, however, he wasn't aware of what happened to his body, but he could feel the flow of energy within his body and his own spiritual energy welling up. With his excellent mental discipline, Lu Shang paid special attention to these sensations. Using the powers of qi regulation to maintain equilibrium between yin and yang in his body, the collected spiritual energy and wind energy inside his body gathered around the martial core, one after another, with a soft light emanating from his eyes.

He continued to sense the wind energy around with his sensory ability, he closed his eyes fully focusing on making sure his aim was made.

Within his consciousness, it was as though he could see a figure performing the wind-withering technique in front of him. With a single punch of his, the figure was able to cause the air to break according to his will. "So the wind withering technique is this powerful when trained to perfection" he anticipated in his heart as he gained insight into the technique with his heart carefully regarding the scene he was seeing.

After staying in that state for unknown hours, he opened his eyes and calmly stood up.

He stood up with determination and punched forward, the blow being accompanied by his hand's wind force, letting the white light shine through and leading the blows forward. Though his punch was still lacking the true frightening power of the wind withering technique, he was satisfied with what he was able to comprehend.

Lu Shang continued to send punch after punch with his balled fist every blow that he aimed was just like lightning descending from the heavens. It smashed forward at a speed faster than light, having enough force to penetrate its targets and injure them immediately. Since he was in his room, he didn't want to destroy anything in it so he had no choice but to carefully carry out his practice.

It was very surprising to see that Lu Shang comprehended the wind withering technique so quickly. It was supposed to take days for him to be able to successfully comprehend it, but he used a day, no, a few hours, which was shocking, but that doesn't mean he has already comprehended the technique to perfection. So with every practice and training, the technique will be near perfection and eventually reach perfection one day.

The reason he was able to comprehend this technique so fast was that his heart was fueled with the determination for power and to trample those arrogant cultivators in his clan under his feet. After his father revealed to him and his mother that he wasn't intentionally avoiding, that also unknowingly became an inspiration for him to become stronger and he had no reason to hold any grudge against his father since he knew his father was under pressure from his grandfather.

Ever since he was born, he hadn't set his eyes on his grandfather nor had his grandfather come to look for him. He was treated as thin air by his grandfather.

He clenched his hand with gritted teeth as he punched out with both hands, sending punch after punch as the air around him. He hates the fact that all these years he had been abandoned and maltreated by those he calls his clan members.

Lu Shang had accomplished things others had accomplished.

First, he miraculously reincarnated.

Second, he broke through to the 1st stage of the consolidation realm for cultivating in a few hours, which was supposed to take days to accomplish.

Third, he also studied a martial arts technique for a few hours. If this got to the hearing of the clan, the reaction of the clan can't be predicted because there hadn't been anyone who had easily accomplished what Lu Shang accomplished.

Lu Shang practiced his newly comprehended skills all night, as sleep refused to take over him. Over his face, sweat could be seen rolling down his face with tiredness visibly seen in his eyes.
