Beep. Beep. Beep. I could hear a machine going along with my heart beat. Ugh I already have a headache and that isn't helping at all. I wish someone would turn it off.
"Shut that damn thing up please." I said ever so softly. "I feel like I've been through hell and that noise isn't helping."
"Kora, you just need to relax" I heard Hunter laugh "Do you want anything to eat or drink I could tell you dad"
"Ok, I'll relax and I want some sweet tea, one grilled cheese, and a double cheeseburger and tell dad light on the ice and special sauce on the sandwiches, please?" I asked.
"Will do and while that's on the way can you please rest a little more." He asked worriedly.
"ok, I will." I replied not really wanting to argue with anyone right now.
I was laying there waiting for my food when the nurse came in. he was tall and tan and kinda cute. He still wasn't as cute as Hunter though.
"How ya feelin'?" He asked as he put his hand to my head. "You still look a little pale you should eat something and get a something to drink."
"My dads on his way with some food for me to eat and a drink it should be here soon." I informed him. "Also I can't seem to rest."
"Well once you get some food and fluids in ya just press this blue button and ask for nurse Travis and I'll come give you a sleep aide to help ya sleep." He said with a smile.
He left just as dad and Hunter came into the room. They came over and that's when I seen the bag. They brought me the best food in all of Gilbert, Louisiana. Gilberts Burger Shack hell yeah! I was so happy I almost jumped out of bed.
"I can see that fiery excitement in your eyes but stay in bed and relax." Dad said. As I looked in is other hand for my sweet tea but I didn't see it.
"Ok, but where's my sweet tea?" I asked longingly.
"Right here, I even brought the whole jug with me. It's my grandmas homemade sweet tea." He smiled at me. "I hope you like it."
He handed me a cup and I sipped it slowly. Holy Orion's belt! This stuff tasted like heaven in a cup. I have just tasted liquid heaven. Hunter laughed that amazing honey filled laugh of his.
"I see someone likes it." He said with a smile. "It tastes like liquid heaven, right?"
"How did you know I was thinking that?" I laughed.
"Cause I think that every time I drink it." He said.
"Well you two stop flirting so little miss here can eat." Dad said. "And no more talking till you eat." Dad laughed.
My dad handed me my food. Gosh I was so hungry I didn't know how long I was out for but I do know I didn't eat last night. I pulled out my grilled cheese sandwich and ate it slowly. I wanted to savor the flavor not knowing if I would get sick from eating or not. After I finished the grilled cheese I realized I was full.
"Hey dad can you press that blue button please?" I asked.
"Yeah sure sweetheart." He said.
"Front desk how may I be of assistance?" the lady asked.
"Yes, um, can you send nurse Travis to room 8 level B please?" I asked every so nicely.
"Ok sweetheart he'll be up in a minute." She said.
"Thank you." I replied.
