ALEX POV
(nineteen years ago) "Arsinoe wait for me" we were running the waterfalls, she really loved the waterfalls and that's where we often play. "ALEX, why are you so slow?, if that's the case then I will ask Leo to come with me next time." I stopped in my track "What are you waiting for? run" she came back, held my hand and pulled me. when we got to the waterfalls, as usual she changed to her swim wear and got into the water, I always loved the face she makes when she gets into the water "come in okay, the water is so refreshing" so I got in too, we spent the entire afternoon there, I had decided that I will tell her when we get back home.
That evening after I took her home she was so tired so I had to postpone my confession for another day which was tomorrow, Later on I walked home. Arsinoe's father worked for Leo's father, so she still stayed in the same compound as us. since my parents died I had to stay with my uncle, who also happens to be Leo's father. Leo and I shared a room, so when I got to the room that evening, I found Leo sitting near the window. Actually from our window you could see Arsinoe's house. "Do you like Arsinoe?" Leo asked since we are brothers I wasn't going to lie, "Yes, I like Arsinoe very much and I am even planning on telling her☺" "Well I like her too" he spoke, this made everything very awkward. "To make this fair we should not tell her rather let her choose on her own" I found everything wrong with his proposal but I had to agree.
A Few months later we found out we were relocating to country A with that It meant I will have to break the deal, so I gathered all the strength I had and went to her place only to find Leo there, he had broken the promise we made, so he confessed his feelings to her. I choose not to wait and here her answer so I decided to leave. And after years she showed up in country S at Leo's birthday, I tried to get to her because I knew what was going to happen but once more I was late, so with all the frustration I hurt her that night but deep down I wanted to say "I love you, choose me".
TODAY
When I saw her today over at her restaurant I wanted to talk to her, I had so much to say and ask but I played it cool, she is the only girl I have ever loved, I had focus all my attention into being better for her, but when I found out she got married I hurt, but this time I was not going to let her go. Her accepting my lunch invitation gave me some hope, I just hope all goes well.
Today Is my first non official date with her, I have never been good with women, not like Leo, so i did not know what to expect, So I made arrangements around nature, somewhere she would love. "Arsinoe, you came?" she looks really stunning right now "Well yes I did give you my word didn't I?" "You look amazing" I complimented her "☺thank you" we ordered our food and soon it arrived. "So are you in country Z to stay or perhaps will you be leaving?" Someone had to break the silence "Well, for now I will be around, so I heard you took over your family business?" well she did her research. My family owns half of pretty much all the buildings and houses in country Z. They have constructed all the biggest buildings, most of government project goes to them, and all this happened when he took over. "Well Yes, someone had to do so and as the only heir I had too" Right now I just wanted to impress her. "I see, you even get time to act?" ooh no this does not sound good "Its nothing like That,Leo is my brother so I help him sometimes, it's nothing big" she mumbled something "Well it seems all the girls love you" but I pretended i did not hear "excuse me, I did not here you" "I just said, it's good to help out". wait did I sense jealousy 😂 but maybe I am overthinking this.
Our date went well. I dropped her at her place since she said she had no work that afternoon and I headed home too. On my arrival, I received an unexpected guest, Leo. "Brother long time since we last saw each other?" I did not know his deal but I was going to find out soon "Well I have been busy" "I see and does that busy involve Arsinoe? perhaps?" "If that's your way to ask have I seen Arsinoe? well yes" "what exactly are you doing here Leo?" "So do you still like her, you know you don't have a chance with her right?" well I guess the over confident Leo is still around "Leo, you think I will fall for that crap like years ago, you got to be kidding me" "Alex,do you really want to do this?" it was pointless talking to him that I knew for a fact but someone has to put him in his place "Leo I will not late you or anyone to ever hurt her, and yes we are doing this, I let you have her before, well not anymore, I will fight for her, if thats the last time I do" I could see through the sarcastic laugh he gave, he had no intention of playing fair, he might live Arsinoe but I know him better, his pride and ego makes him do stupid things, but i cant let his pride hurt her "May the best man win".he said and I repeated "May the best man win"
