"Hey A******! Remember me?!?"
Desmond kicked down the front door of his ex-boss's office and stepped in with Owen.
Playing their roles to a tee, the security gang, who now work for the Quinton Consortium, stood in front of Desmond and Owen, blocking their way.
"Well well well...look who's back. You really need a good beat down don't you." mock the ex-boss.
"Don't be so sure about that....and I see that your sl** is here with you." replied Desmond, enraging Linda.
"Who are you calling a sl**! You broke trash!" Linda shouted.
"I'm calling you a sl**! You played with Wayne's heart for three whole years! Three years! Even street wh**** have a conscious! Unlike you!" Desmond shouted back.
"Easy, Desmond." said Owen, his hand holding Desmond's shoulder. "We're not here to trade barbs. We here to right a major wrong."
"I know you. You're the VIP visitor that day I fired that trash loser Derek." said the ex-boss.
Trash? Loser?
Owen was getting more and more offended.
"You know, I ought to thank you." said the ex-boss. "Ever since that day, you made me realise that my ex-employees were all losers like Derek. They couldn't do a simple job like find a trash loser. So I fired them."
"You see this security team? They are definitely more efficient than those trash losers. So one piece of advice...if that trash Desmond is working for you, you better get rid of him. Hahaha." the ex-boss mocked Desmond and Owen.
"That's right. I'm the only person my boss needs to be successful." Linda added.
"Well your so called success ends here tonight. In fact, it ends right now." said Desmond.
Owen added, "I told you. You offended someone who you should never offend. Tonight, you face the consequences."
"Is that supposed to be a threat? Are you threatening me?!?" said the ex-boss, getting visibly angry.
"This is no threat. It's not even a promise. It's a guaranteed fact." replied Desmond.
"Hah. I like to see you try! VIP or not, you both aren't leaving this place alive! Security! Get them!" ordered the ex-boss.
Surprisingly, there was no movement from the gang.
"I said get them!" the ex-boss ordered again.
Still no movement.
"Are you idiots deaf!?!? Your boss just gave you a direct order! He didn't pay you losers to just stand there!!" shouted Linda.
Pay? Loser?
That was the last straw.
One by one, all the members of the gang walked out of the office, except their leader.
"WHAT THE F*** IS THIS?!?!?" the ex-boss shouted.
The gang leader turned to face his now ex-boss and said, "What this is...is a statement made by me and my guys."
"We found out the truth from these guys here. You did not pay us a single cent! AND YOU EXPECT US TO PROTECT YOUR LYING A**?!?"
"We're done working for you! As of last night, we work for them! And in a few minutes time, you'll be done too!"
With that last statement, the gang leader walked out of the office.
"Well then, looks like your security just bailed out on you. There's no wall now." said Desmond.
"So what? They said they work for you? What company do you work for anyway? Some trash company?" said the ex-boss.
"ARE YOU CALLING THE QUINTON CONSORTIUM A TRASH COMPANY?!?" a voice boomed from outside the office.
Seconds later, in walked Peter Quinton, face red with anger, as though he could rip people in half.
Quinton Consortium?
That name made the ex-boss and Linda stand up straight, beads of sweat running down their foreheads.
"I told you." said Owen. "You've offended someone you should never offend. And you offended Mr Quinton himself."
"Wait a minute. Mr Quinton, we never had any business dealings with you that we know of. How have we offended you?" asked Linda.
"Shut up you sl**! You cheating with your boss is enough to make me mad; but what was worse is that your boss sabotaged and then unjustly fired my son!!" shouted Peter.
"Your son? No offence Mr Quinton, but since when do you have a son?" asked the ex-boss.
"Since when? Good question. Since when did I have you, son? Peter called out, turning to the office entrance.
To Linda and the ex-boss's shock, in walked Derek; but he was not alone. Following close behind Derek were Amanda, Wayne and Kimberly.
"Well dad, according to this certified true copy of this DNA test report, it shows that I am your son since I was born!" said Derek and threw the report in his ex-boss's face.
The ex-boss could only react shocked. Linda was more shocked, not only because she found out that Derek was a Quinton; but she saw Wayne standing alongside Derek, with a lady standing beside him that she does not know.
"Don't even think of any form of negotiation. There's no way out for you two this time." said Desmond.
"Exactly. Everything that has been said up to this point has been recorded, thanks to a hidden mic under my collar." added Owen.
"My legal team has everything needed to file a lawsuit against your company. Need I mention on what grounds?" said Peter.
"Like Desmond said, you have no room for negotiation. You do, however have two choices." said Derek.
"Choice one...you can continue to be stubborn and get hit with that lawsuit, which you will definitely lose. In which case, you have to pay all your ex-employees their severance package, which in turn will bankrupt your company." said Owen.
"Choice two...you sign your ownership over to the Quinton Consortium and resign from the company immediately, with no severance. We will reinstate all the staff you fired unjustly. They will resume work as though they never left." said Derek.
"You have thirty seconds to make your choice." Peter said sternly.
Thirty seconds to a normal human would fly by in a flash; but for Derek's ex-boss, they were an eternity.
He knew, whichever choice he made, he was going to lose out.
"I've decided. I'll take choice two. At least the company will continue to operate." said the ex-boss.
With that, he signed the necessary documents prepared in advance from Peter's legal team. Quinton Consortium officially own the company.
"Before you go, remember one thing...you had better keep your mouth shut about my son's real identity. One word from you and you're toast." warned Peter.
"Yes, Sir." said the ex-boss.
"Good. Now get lost, trash loser!" said Peter.
'Woah dad. Not you too.' thought Derek.
After signing off his ownership to the Quinton Consortium, the ex-boss, now ex-owner wrote his resignation letter and left the office immediately.
