CHAPTER NINE
Max Willam: It appears that they never had any intention of giving us a fair trial to prove our innocence.
Max Willam: Do you all agree with this assessment?
Sabertooth Male: Yes, master. We have been falsely accused of a crime and have been imprisoned ever since.
Max Willam: How many years has it been?
Sabertooth Male: It has been four years, master.
Danhan (angrily): Four years? That means you have been here since your teenage years!
Max Willam: I never realized that this kingdom was so corrupt.
Max Willam: Well then, what are your thoughts on seeking revenge?
Sabertooth Males: We will do as you command, master.
Max Willam: Excellent! Let us begin.
In the dimly lit prison cell, Max Willam and his newly recruited subordinates were stealthily hunting down the prison guards.
Max Willam spotted an elf prison guard and approached him cautiously. With a swift strike, he rendered the guard unconscious and dragged his body into an empty cell.
Max Willam: Hmmm, this guard seems to possess some peculiar gems.
"Allow me to examine it, young one," Danhan says with a serious tone.
"It is quite intriguing how a male prison elf guard possesses such a valuable gem," Danhan continues, his voice filled with curiosity.
Max Willam, equally intrigued, asks, "Is this gem imbued with great power or does it hold some other significance?"
Danhan nods and replies, "Indeed, it possesses immense power. However, there is a crucial secret that this gem holds, known only to my kind."
Max Willam, growing more curious, inquires, "Pray tell, what secret does this gem hold?"
"We can uncover its secrets by placing it upon the ground and channeling a small trace of crimson energy upon it," Danhan explains.
As they follow Danhan's instructions, the gem begins to crack, revealing a tiny bottle filled with a peculiar liquid.
Max Willam, bewildered, asks, "What is this substance?"
Danhan chuckles softly and replies, "I never imagined they had preserved the last remaining bottle of it."
Eager for answers, Max Willam insists, "Danhan, please enlighten me. What is the significance of this substance?"
Danhan's voice grows solemn as he reveals, "This is the last drop of kin-gen, a fruit created by the dark lord who once controlled the mythical creatures."
Max Willam's gaze fixates on the small bottle, his mind filled with wonder and apprehension.
Danhan expressed his frustration with the person who kept the last drop of kin-gen in a gem, stating that he did not know what kind of idiot would do such a thing. Max Willam then asked if the gem had any powerful abilities, to which Danhan replied that it had been centuries since anyone had seen the dark Lord, who would have been able to provide insight into the gem's potential. Danhan went on to explain that the dark Lord had died half a century ago, and that some powerful individuals from another world had joined the out war battle, turning the tide against them. He had made a promise to repay the favor someday, when he found them. Despite this, Danhan suggested that Max Willam try the gem and see what happens. Max Willam drank it and experienced visions of the dark Lord's past, including how he obtained power, was betrayed, and put to death by his comrades. Max Willam exclaimed that it was insane, and Danhan asked him what he had seen.
Max Willam: The memories of the dark Lord... they were truly horrifying, beyond what words can express.
Max: Let me explain what I witnessed after consuming that drink, Danhan.
Danhan: I simply cannot believe it. Those individuals betrayed their own kind without any remorse.
Max Willam: It seems we have a significant number of treacherous acquaintances who will require reeducation in the future.
Danhan: I completely agree, Max.
Max Willam: Now, let us focus on our elf companion.
Danhan: In my opinion, it would be a waste to utilize him solely as a soldier in our new army. It would be more beneficial to extract valuable information from him regarding the king of this kingdom, those in positions of power within the military and economy, as well as their allies.
Max Willam: That is an excellent idea. We should restrain him and interrogate him further.
After securing the elf male prison guard with chains, Max summons the two sabertooth males to join him. Minutes later, the elf male prison guard begins to regain consciousness.
Excuse me, sir, it appears that our esteemed guest has regained consciousness," Danhan conveyed to Max telepathically.
Max then turned his attention towards the male elf prison guard.
"Pardon me, but could you kindly inform me of the current situation? Why am I restrained in chains?" inquired the male elf prison guard.
"It seems that you have awoken," Max replied calmly.
"How did you manage to escape from your cell?" questioned the male elf prison guard.
"That is not a matter you should concern yourself with, my dear elf," responded Max with a hint of seriousness.
Suddenly, the male elf prison guard noticed the two sabertooths and was taken aback by their complete recovery.
"Why does your expression resemble that of someone who has seen a ghost?" Max inquired.
One of the sabertooth males leaned in close to Max and whispered quietly into his left ear.
"Oh, is that so?" says Max Willam in a serious tone.
"Then how about you gentlemen warm him up for me," suggests Max Willam calmly.
"With pleasure," responds the sabertooth males, their expressions serious.
Cracking their knuckles, they proceed to deliver powerful punches to the elf male prison guard, targeting his face and stomach. The sound of his screams of pain reverberates throughout the floor, catching the attention of other prison guards on different levels. The guards from the nineteenth floor quickly rush down to the twentieth floor.
"It seems you'll be making some new acquaintances. Who wants to join in on the 'fun' you're having?" Danhan communicates through Max's mind, his tone serious.
Max steps out of the cells, preparing to welcome his new guests on his own floor.
"Let's set things in motion then," declares Max Willam, his voice filled with determination.
