Chapter 12 - Why should a rogue not be worthy of being Luna?

Chapter 12

I suddenly shot out my hands that had been tied behind the pillar. With one hand, I grabbed Emily by her throat, and with the other I clamped her arms from behind. She struggled hard, but my hands tightened their grip.

"Don't move if you don't want to die!" My voice was calm, but my hands held her tighter still.

Her eyes were bulging, and her tongue protruding desperately for air: soon, she stopped trying to break free.

"If you want her to live, leave us alone! " I commanded the panic-stricken guards around me.

The guards exchanged glances, and one who must have been the commander spoke up, "We'll go out for now, but don't do anything you'll regret. If you harm Miss Emily, you're dead."

"I would have been dead anyway, now I can just take her down with me! Whose life is valuable, which of us is afraid of death?" I sneered.

The guards stepped away, and I then turned to Emily. "You didn't expect that a rogue without a wolf would have so much strength, did you? Actually, my injuries were healed last night. These chains can't hold me any more."

I studied Emily's face, which was full of panic and fear. She tried to speak, but all she could let out was a whimper.

"Do you really like the King? Before you die, let me tell you a few things about him. The King has a mole on his left chest, and every time I kissed him there, he would be as meek as a lamb. And do you know how much the King cares about me? He carried me down the mountain on his back, just so that I wouldn't get caught in the rain." I put my mouth to her ear and whispered in her ear.

Emily's face turned red, and her eyes filled with tears; I wasn't sure whether she was angry or sad.

"Do you think I'm without shame, using my body in exchange for the King's favour? What about you? All your status and wealth come from your father. If you didn't have your father, you'd be fucking inferior to me. What makes you think you are more noble than me? Why should a rogue not be worthy of being Luna, do you deserve it instead?" I yelled at her while I dragged her with me towards the door.

By now, beads of sweat were now dripping from my forehead, and my hands had started shaking with pain. I realised that my hands hadn't completed recovered from my ordeal.

Emily realised that my hands had loosened their grasp, and sending her chance, she stamped her foot on mine, and I could almost hear my bones being crushed.

Emily struggled desperately to break free from my hold. I gritted my teeth and tried again to tighten my grip, despite the pain surging through my entire body. She was my hostage, and to seize her was to seize my last hope of survival. I didn't know if I could break out of here, but I was going to try my damnedest.

As we struggled, I heard a commotion, and soon a tall, familiar figure rushed in; it was Theo!

Theo pushed Emily away and held me tightly. "I've come back, Dory."

I inhaled his familiar scent and choked up, "I don't want to die, please don't let me die!"

Emily, who had been pushed to the ground, had returned to being her previous arrogant self.

She sat there, still, on the ground, gesticulated at me and shouted at Theo, "Your Majesty, this bitch is crazy, she's even tried to kidnap me. Arrest her and have her cut to pieces!"

Theo was kissing my bloodied fingers, and the veins on his neck bulged when he heard Emily.

He turned towards Emily, the pupils of his eyes narrowing into a straight golden line, sending two laser-like beams of light towards Emily, who immediately froze still and could not move speak, as if she were a robot under his control.

Theo drew out the iron rod, still red-hot from the fire, the same iron rod with 'bitch' engraved on it, and stabbed it hard into Emily's pale cheek.

"Aaargh!" Emily howled in pain, covering her steaming face and rolling on the ground. Theo led me from the cell.

"Luke, discipline the guards here who have beaten Dory, cut their hands off and lock them up!" Theo ordered his Beta, walking away.

When we were alone, I again fell into Theo's warm embrace, and only then did I breathe a long sigh of relief. I felt like I was dreaming when I thought about my miraculous experience last night.

Here was what happened last night.

Last night, I carefully wiggled my fingers and toes, and I soon felt that my shattered bones were growing back together and every wound on my body was healing.

As I lay on the cold floor, I felt my spirit carry me away from here to a vast prairie. I was singing magical chants and moving my body, just like the dream I had the last time I had a fever. Although I wasn't sure if it was a dream or a hallucination.

After a while, when I felt my soul return to my body, I regained consciousness and opened my eyes to find, to my surprise, that my hands and feet had broken free of the hand and foot cuffs.

At first, I determined that I would run away, but on second thoughts I didn't know how many guards were outside and if I did escape them, I still didn't know where I was.

I thought for a while, then decided that I would only have a chance of survival if I took Emily as a hostage, because the guards wouldn't dare to hurt her while they tried to restrain me.

Having considered this, I tried to put my hand back in the handcuffs. My hand seemed to have no bones and slipped in at once; I tried pulling it out again, and that worked too. So I pretended I was still handcuffed and waited for a chance to get close to Emily and grab her.

"Dory, are you still scared? Why are you so quiet?" Theo clicked his fingers in front of my eyes.

Theo's words brought me back from my thoughts. As I sat beside him in the car, I leaned my head on his shoulder and said softly, "I'm not scared, I just have a surreal feeling."

I continued, "Your Majesty, weren't you going away for three days? How did you find me so quickly? Emily had said that this place was very secluded and no one could find it."

He touched the ring on my hand. "I received a mind link from Esther while I was away. She told me you had been kidnapped and were in danger. I rushed back to find you, and this ring brought me to you. This is not an ordinary ring; in all the time it has been with me, I can feel its location. As long as you wear it, you won't get lost."

When Theo said 'you won't get lost', I felt a sense of security I had never felt before. Theo gave me this ring so he wouldn't leave me behind. I looked up and kissed him on the cheek, "Thank you, you saved me once again."

Theo's body stiffened for a moment, and I sensed he hadn't expected me to kiss him in the car. He whispered in my ear, "You'll have to thank me properly, not just a kiss. "

I felt his warm breath, and my face turned red. Looking at Luke, who was driving in front of me, I felt embarrassed that I was flirting with the King in front of other people, so I changed the subject.

I told Theo about my bizarre experience in the cell the night before, asked, "Do you have handcuffs? I'll show you."

Theo asked Luke, "Luke, do you have handcuffs with you?"

Luke took a pair of handcuffs from the glove box and handed them to Theo, who in turn handed them to me, "Here you are."

I reached for the handcuffs, but this time I couldn't get my hand in at all. I tried a few times, but it still didn't work.

I pouted in disappointment, "Why isn't it working? I thought I had magic powers."

"You're probably too tired, you can try again in a few days." Theo took the handcuffs back and comforted me.

I nodded, that was all I could do.

The car soon reached the Palace, and Theo left me there. "Go back and get some rest, I have some business to take care of, and I'll see you tonight." Then he left me.

Esther was waiting for me at the door. As soon as she saw me, she gave me a big hug, stroked my hair and said lovingly, "Dory, Moon Goddess bless you, you're back safely, I was so worried about you."

I thought of how Zoe used to hug me and greet me like Esther had every time I came home, and it had been a long time since I felt cared by my family. I threw myself into Esther's arms and cried uncontrollably.

After a while, I gradually started to calm down.

Esther wiped my tears with a tissue and explained, "You should thank your friend Sophie, who told me that you had been kidnapped. She couldn't enter the Palace grounds, so she had to shout to me from a distance. I heard someone calling your name from outside, and by the time I went out to see her, her voice was so hoarse that she could hardly make a sound. She is such a good girl, and if it had not been for her, I could not have told the King what had happened to you."

So it was Sophie! She must have seen me when I was kidnapped that day. I thought of her tiny figure shouting from outside the Palace and felt a pang in my heart.

I broke away from Esther and said, "Esther, I'm going to see Sophie right now."

I left at once in a hurry, ignoring Esther calling after me, "Take your time and don't forget to come back for dinner later!"

I soon found Sophie, who was pulling weeds in the garden. When she heard my voice, she stood up and ran over to me. She hugged me, moving her mouth but making no sound.

With tears streaming down my face, I pressed my finger to her mouth and assured her, "Don't talk, I know you have lost your voice."

We were sitting on the grass, snuggled up to each other, and Sophie wrote on my palm and gestured with her hand, so I could understand what she meant.

She told me that she was working that day and heard me calling for her, so she followed my voice and wanted to surprise me. She didn't expect to see several men put a bag over my head and take me away.

She was terrified and knew she couldn't fight them, so she ran outside the Palace to find the patrol. But no one believed her and she couldn't get close to the Palace, so she had to shout desperately from outside the Palace.

She didn't know how long she shouted for, but finally she saw a housekeeper from the Palace come to her, who asked her what was going on. She hurriedly told the housekeeper what she had seen.

"Thank you so much, Sophie!" I couldn't but thank her.

Sophie pointed at her right shoulder with her fingers, made a circular movement to her other shoulder, and then used both hands to form two circles horizontally, finishing with the pinkie fingers touch.

She was making 'we are family' sign, and I was both laughing and wiping my tears at the same time. I am not alone in this world, I have Sophie, Esther and Theo.

I left Sophie and went back to the Palace. Esther prepared pasta Bolognese for me, I ate two big bowls, took a hot bath and finally went to bed.

When I fell into the fluffy blanket, I smelt Theo's scent, and my whole body suddenly relaxed. I couldn't wait for Theo to come back and take me into his arms again, as he had before.

But after waiting for what felt like an eternity, he still had not returned. I felt my eyelids sink and drifted off to sleep.

I was woken by an itch on the back of my neck and smelt a familiar scent. It's him coming back. I tried to turn around, but Theo held me tightly from behind and I couldn't move.

"Babe, I didn't want to wake you up, but I missed you so much that I couldn't resist kissing you." His voice radiated magnetism, and I felt my whole being melted as if into a honey pot.

With his leg pressing against mine, his fingers gently pinching my nipples, I felt my entire body tense. With his tongue tracing every inch of my back, I felt the fires of lust inside me spreading throughout my body.

My mind went blank as I enjoyed his caresses and kisses, and began to moan. He took off my panties, and I didn't want to stop it, as my primal desires flooded my consciousness, and I craved him desperately.

I felt warm fluid coming out between my thighs as his tongue nipping and licking across my lower stomach towards my pussy. My legs were trembling, and my hands clutched the sheets to stop the tremors rattling my nerves.

I felt flustered: I was not ready but desperately longed to be at one with him.

At this moment, there was tap on the door. He stopped and opened his mindlink.

Then he gasped and got up sharply, "I have got to go, it's an emergency. I do want you, but not now, you can make your decision when you shift into a wolf."

I didn't know what to say, but I felt relieved.

Over the next few days, Theo arrived home very late, and his expression became darker.

The internet was flooded with news criticizing him for being bewitched by a rogue and no longer interested in running the kingdom. I heard from Easter that Paul was turning on Theo and forcing him to hand me over to him….
