A month had slipped by since that fateful day in the grand square, when Alex emerged victorious in the duel against Andrew. The pack had resettled into its usual rhythm, the memory of that intense confrontation fading like a distant echo. Life had moved forward, and so had I, at least on the surface.
Today marked my routine checkup with Doctor Thomas, and I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. It was remarkable how much life could change in just a few weeks. I vividly remembered the cheers, the exhilaration, and the pride in Alex's eyes as he emerged victorious. He was now the designated next alpha, the future leader of the Blackwood pack. However, this new responsibility also meant he had been enveloped by a whirlwind of duties—meetings, responsibilities, and commitments—that often kept him at a distance.
